    Default adb root

I have recently rooted my GNex from Big Red. However, when I use the console command "adb root" it gives me an error that it cannot be run on production phones. Everything else works except this...well and the mount command. Even using adb shell first an Ltd then escalating to root works. I was hoping to get some ideas on how to fix this or work around it.
