CWM was on the phone via Rommanger
If you can't get into bootloader, you are going to want to try to get into download/ODIN mode (volume down and power button) and use ODIN to restore your device. Here are working links for the files you will need (CDMA... if you are GSM let me know and I will hunt it down if you can't find it):

You will need a program like to unzip the ODIN package.

Here is a thread on using ODIN:

If your drivers are already configured with my toolkit, then at least that's taken care of...

If you can get ODIN to see your phone, then you will be all set. It's a great tool if you really are out of options. Let me know how it goes or if you have any other questions.

After it asks me if my fastbooter is there and i press 1 , while rooting, my computer restarts and it messes up the whole process. Any idea of what's wrong?

That doesn't make any sense. There is no code in my program that forces a restart. Maybe it was windows update? Have you tried more than once...?

Nice program and guide, really appreciate it. I seem to be a little stuck though.

I thought I installed the drivers correctly, I see "SAMSUNG Android ADB Interface" under Samsung Android phone in the device manager. When I go to the cmd and type in adb devices I get "'adb' is not a recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file" I cannot get the device name with a string of numbers. Using windows xp

Use the list devices button in the program instead.

If you want to be able to call adb cmds globally from cmd line manually, then use the system variables button to update your systems path variable. You might also need to reboot once in order for it to fully set.

I really appreciate the easy instructions! I unlocked and rooted my phone with ease... I then tried to flash a rom through rom manager and everything downloaded ota just fine. I installed codename android and things still seemed just fine but I've been stuck in the boot animation screen for 20 mins. The toolkit says its waiting on device so I basically cant do anything? Anyone have any advice on what my next step should be? (Ive already tried the battery pull)

Which version of Codename did you install? Can you copy and paste the link that you used so I can take a look at it?. Also don't use ROM Manager to download and flash ROMs. Only use it for booting into ClockworkMod recovery.. download ROMs from the developers website links.

You're next step if the phone won't start up is to flash your Nandroid Backup... hopefully you made one.

I used your awesome tool kit to unlock/root so that I could use Rom Mgr to flash 4.0.4. All went well, I am now running 4.0.4 but..... after flashing, I lost root. I have tried re-rooting with the tool kit. The batch seems to run fine but still no root. Not sure what to do except Flash Stock and start over from fresh. Do you have any other suggestions????

    Thanks again.

As soon as I get everything working I will be happy to use your "Please Donate" link.

You need to flash a modded su.zip for 4.0.4 -

You could boot into clockwork and flash that. Or replace the su.zip that is currently in the package with that one and run through the root process again.

    It resides here:
    %HOMEDRIVE%\Wugs_GnexRootToolkit\data\su.zip

Version 1.4 of my program will include this.. which should be released by tommorow... but for now, the above solution will work.

So once I have run the program will it automatically update me to 4.0.4? Or will I need to get that somewhere else? And if I do, how do I update to 4.0.4?

So a reboot of the phone seemed to get the drivers installed. It sees the adb device and lists a string of numbers/letters.

So I go to unlock, hit any key. I see my listed device attached so I hit 1. It than reboots in fastboot mode. At this point the program asks again do I see any fastboot device listed above...and this time I don't

edit: NVM, didn't have the fastboot drivers installed correctly, I fixed that. Phone is now unlocked!

Hello, I'm trying to root my nexus but am having some issues. When I hit backup data everything backs up fine. I then select system variables which makes a pop up happen where I select option 1. After it says done I then close the window and select drivers where I am told the drivers are already installed. (I also did the manual instructions for drivers but every time I open cmd and type in adb devices I get the error message "adb is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable command or batch file.)

I am then selecting unlock and then nothing happens. I am never prompted to connect my device like the instructions say. And if I do connect my device nothing happens. Any tips are appreciated!

click the listed device button on the program and you should see the adb device with a string of numbers (if drivers installed correctly)

I've gotten as far as getting the drivers installed myself (windows XP). I found that working totally manually through the cmd function did not work at all for me. However, using his tools 'manual' install (where you try to automatically install but then it gives you an option to continue on in case that doesnt work) was painless as all hell. You say 'no I do not see my adb device listed' it takes you through the necessary steps. Worked prefectly. Then you boot the phone normally, and as the above poster said - hit the list adb devices button in the tool to check and see if your phone is listed. Then power off and boot into fastboot - hit the list adb devices for fastboot option. good to go.

Does any custom rom/root allow flash to be enabled? Or it is not possible at all?

Are you referring to Adobe flash? If so... yeah, you can run flash player on any ROM... just download the app from the market and use a good browser like dolphin. iPhones restrict flash usage, not android devices.
