what next for a noob(dummy) after unlock/root

ok so after many painstaking tries ive finally unlocked and rooted my vzw gn i have done some tinkering before and not really an expert at it... i had a droid x so there wasnt much i could really do never did a rom dont understand what they are but im bored and wanna learn can someone point me in a direction that gives you a step by step on what to do next and yes i do donate for the simplier things in life

i would install the new radio files. I cant remember where I got them from, either here or in droidlife. That would be a start. Its all about research.... haha and alot or mistakes, hopefully not to many tho.

I would def look into getting root explorer
