Re: Anybody try the Open Kang Project- toro ROM?
What I like most about Toro 19 is that Roman has integrated Nova Launcher into the ROM.

Re: Anybody try the Open Kang Project- toro ROM?
I have tried it and it is a very good ROM. It's very similar to codename since they share alot of the same features. For me, I didn't particularly like the big gaudy toggle notifications and prefer the much more simple ones like in cm and codename. I have not tried AOKP since about 3 versions ago, but I liked what I saw.

I love it, and highly recommend it to anyone. But as with anything, it comes down to personal preference. I'd say give it a shot.

Re: Anybody try the Open Kang Project- toro ROM?
This is my current daily driver
Super stable rom, battery life has been excellent
And I love the big toggles in the notification pull down
They fit the ics theme and look as if they were done by Google - 01-18-2012, 10:35 PM #8

Re: Anybody try the Open Kang Project- toro ROM?
I tried AOKP a few versions back and I liked it, but I liked codename better. Flashed the new AOKP today and its now my new daily driver.

Re: Anybody try the Open Kang Project- toro ROM?
I'm on AOKP at the moment, and have tried Codename as well. I'm not quite sure which one I like more. Both were used with Franco's Kernel. I try too many rom/kernel combos to ever really figure out which one works the best for me...

Re: [ROM] Android Open Kang Project
Its a very nice rom. Runs super smooth (Antutu benchmark score of 6900 w/ Franco#13.) I actually like the big notification with the brightness slider. all other roms only have a button that makes the screen dim or brighten to a specific percentage, but this one actually has a slider. Plus, i like the pink unicorn start up animation.

Sorry if I confused you, all I meant was don't change or lower the CPU settings with apps such as SetCPU. For example, you could set the minimum lower than Franco's 700 which is the default setting. I changed it to 350 while the phone was not being used and the Max at 1200 CPU. Once I did this using Franco's app in the market, I got really bad battery life. It didn't make sense why lowering it would make it worse but it did. So I charged my phone back to full, went into his app and under kernel settings I changed it to 700 minimum and applied settings. Afterwards, back to the amazing battery life.
There is a way to underclock the kernel and its laid out in its own section in the app. Also, the one change I would recommend is enabling Hotplug as it shuts down cpu1 when the screen goes off. It comes back on when you use your phone. I would recommended downloading his app if you use Franco's kernel as he explains everything in great detail, plus why not support the dev. And, you could download the newest update right from the app and it will be ready to go in CWR.

OP here...
I'm not sure what updating I would do
. I originally started this thread because I came across the ROM over on rootzwiki and saw how big it was. I was just wonder if anyone here was using it (I'm a pretty happy Codename user myself)? I think a mod changed my title to make it more of a formal "ROM" thread. I'll go ahead and throw a link to the original web page so people can easily navigate to it.
