On a random note, I pre-ordered this this morning. I've no idea if it will be amazing, so-so, or awful, but worst case scenario I'm out $25 (well, $30 with shipping).

I've ripped through 3 VZW screen protectors and I'm tired of them. I'm happy they keep my screen safe, but they scratch easily, aren't full screen so the edges are weird and uncovered, and they are AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL with fingerprints and smudges. Anything has to be better.

Should be shipping within the next few weeks, from what I've read. I'll definitely be posting a pseudo-review once I get it installed.

Balls I have; tolerance for an oily, greasy screen I have none.

EDIT: here's a vid of the SGSII cover on the Gnex. Obviously the fit is off, but the real one should be edge-to-edge. Clarity looks good, and it seems pretty thin and durable.

The Nexus screen should look pretty good. The original iPad is 1024x768 on a 10 inch screen while the Nexus tablet is 1200x800 on a 7 inch screen so you'll be getting higher pixel density.

The old iPad doesn't look too bad, but for some reason it appears the color has been deteriorating. More...yellow now, perhaps?

Nothing wrong with the original iPad screen, it just doesn't compare to the screen of the current iPad. It's like when I thought DVDs looked great and didn't understand why anyone would bother with Blu-Ray. And then I saw Blu-Ray.

Is your iPad jailbroken? Wonder if there are some apps that let you tweak the colors? Or maybe you're just used to seeing the color reproduction on AMOLED now?

It is Jailbroken, but the last time I tried navigating Cydia for anything worthwhile I nearly had an aneurysm.

It's probably more of the latter. Damn Galaxy Nexus spoiling me...

DFH IBA is good stuff. I'm having a Sam Summer Ale right now - not my fav, but it was on sale - and will then have a more local brew, Bluegrass Brewing Company's APA. Spicy, hoppy, crisp, and sessionable at 5.5% ABV. MMMmmmm

I was drinking dogfish 60 earlier myself. Switched to Rogue for the rest of tonight. Still have a bottle of Bacon Maple in the fridge chilling for the 4th. Really looking forward to that.

Nice collection/selection there! I had/shared a growler last week at band practice (or was it 2 weeks ago?) of the Bacon Maple - it was delicious! Their Yellow Snow IPA is a solid session beer, and the Double Chocolate Stout is a great treat to finish out the night. The former in 6-packs, the latter in bombers, respectively.

I was at an old timey whisky bar over the weekend so I decided to make tom collins' two nights ago. Last night went out for Portuguese and had a bottle of vinho Verde: fezulo brand I think. Very good. Not really a wine guy here but Verde is more my speed.
