I'm unimpressed honestly.

Capacitive buttons should die already.

Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2

That's really the only downside I see, next to sense. And I totally agree, capacitive buttons need to be obliterated. I hate the ones that are on my one v.

Update for Unity Launcher (free)

Not bad. Not great (yet) but it's got tons of potential.

I've played with the settings a bit, and have settled on having it on the left side. I think this would be a better app for a slightly smaller screen or for a tablet. On the Gnex I find it a bit of a stretch to reach across the screen with my thumb and pull the tab. Of course if I put the phone in my left hand and use my right hand to manipulate the screen it's awesome.

It sometimes lags a bit, once or twice I've had apps NOT launch from it (despite a few tries) and I had to launch them from the app drawer. I've also noticed sometimes the "pull tab" is visibile, sometimes it's not. it's kinda ugly when it shows (having a colored bar along one side of your screen overtop EVERYTHING else has that effect). To re-hide it, just go to the ubuntu launcher app, and then open settings. Back your way out (back button, not just home screen) and *poof* it's gone. Until it decides to show up again. I haven't figured out what exactly is making it appear, but at least it's relatively easy to re-hide.

Seems to take a bit of a hit on the battery, but that could be due to another app I installed at the same time, plus it could be the time I spent messing around with it over the past day.

Overall? I'd say it's worth the free install. Not sure what all the paid version unlocks, but at this point I won't be dropping my coin on it until I see what the dev does with it. It certainly has potential though. Fix the lag, fix the magic appearing pull tab (make it stay hidden) and I'll very likely buy the full version.

Anyone else give it a shot? what did you find? (I'm on the GSM Gnex, FWIW)

EDIT I should also add that I use Apex Pro as my launcher, and while I'm using Ubuntu, I've disabled the dock in Apex, since Ubuntu is pretty much acting like my dock for now

EDIT PART DEUX When I first wrote this I called it the Ubuntu Launcher. Acually It's the Unity Launcher. I'm pretty sure you knew that.... but just for the sake of clarity. And stuff.

One month left on the Verizon unlimited LTE line with hotspot. Not currently throttled in any way, steady 150GB+ usage for the past four and a half months. I plan to discontinue my service when the contact ends, so I figure I might as well run that "unlimited data" part into the ground up until the last day.

Any suggestions on what to download? I'm already pulling down local copies of all sorts of videos (everything from music videos to 4K-resolution timelapse compositions). Don't say porn. Those jokes have been done to death.
