AOKP Milestone 5 Themes
First off a big thanks goes out to Zero Neck for his willingness to help me out!
What themes can I get for aokp milestone 5? Where can I get them with directions on how to flash?
I already made a nandroid of my fresh aokp install.
Thanks!!! - 05-16-2012, 11:28 PM #2
Re: AOKP Milestone 5 Themes
I usually check in here -
just make sure you download the theme that matches your rom, ie, aokp m5 if that's what you're using now.
download the theme, move to sd card, reboot to recovery, clear cache and dalvik cache, and install the theme .zip and you're good to go.
For input on themes, davey11 is really the go-to, so maybe he (or someone else) can throw ya some suggestions. i haven't put on a theme in a few weeks due to school n all that, so i'm out the loop in those regards.

Re: AOKP Milestone 5 Themes
yo jbomb,
I have most all m5 themes on my comp. If you need anything or can't find something, give a holler and maybe I can help. I have resigned to stay on m5 for the long haul and I am somewhat of a theme freak. I can't make em but I can manipulate the hell outta them. I do mental stuff like use a framework from one theme and systemUI from another and use different themed apks from all over the place. My phone looks nuts. ;"P

Re: AOKP Milestone 5 Themes
yeah i think b35 has faux kernel baked in but not sure. reflashing francos won't hurt even if it is the one baked in already.
and btw, b36 is out, if you want to just flash to that, im sure the themes are available or on the way for 36 as i type this

Re: AOKP Milestone 5 Themes
Davey - any themes that are cool that you would recommend?
I like clean and simple - but different at the same time.
Right now I running one that is primarily white.... - 05-18-2012, 12:25 AM #13
That is hard to answer. Everyone has different preferences and colors they like. There are a few blue, red, green and purple ones. There is one with a circuit board or even a carbon fiber one.
I suggest going to rootz and xda in the nexus theme sections and look at the screenshots.

One other thing that is theme related are fonts. When the phone first came out ppl were stumped on how to get different fonts on ics.
Nowadays there are a whole bunch available. To me different fonts greatly enhance the experience. I have like 30 fonts on my sd that I flash. They are available at rootz in a sticky in the themes section.

Is there a wooden theme?

I've seen most of em, and I don't believe there is one.
On a separate thought, with the theme chooser becoming mainstream, I find it disturbing that the the theme apks on the play store are becoming pay only. I'm not a cheapskate, but a dollar for each theme starts to add up. Kind of a downer.

When you say theme Chooser I had something like this on gummy charger how do I get the theme Chooser and I just noticed the themes on the market do they install the same way as others?

The theme chooser is on the latest editions of cm9 and aokp.
There is a theme section in settings and you just choose the theme apk that you downloaded. Supposed to happen on the fly without a reboot. I'm still on m5 and one of the reasons I haven't upgraded is the chooser.

Its been a while (a long while) since I've used a different ROM so I have two questions.
Will flashing a theme wipe my data? Also, are the themes in Theme Chooser compatible with AOKP?

Re: AOKP Milestone 5 Themes
No, Flashing a theme will not wipe your data, however if you flash a theme in CWM you will not be able to revert back, so do a nandroid before you flash just in case you decide to change it later. You should always wipe cache and dalvik before you flash a theme for good measure.
and Yes, there are theme chooser themes available for AOKP, however M5 does not have the theme chooser built in, for that you need to be on B35 or B36.Thanked by: - 05-22-2012, 09:57 AM #22
Re: AOKP Milestone 5 Themes
Agree, I change themes a few times a week and mod them. (Soft keys, soft key background and other Photoshop stuff) sucks that every thing is starting to head to the play store and cost money. I guess it is time to start shelling out money, can't live with one color or look for to long. Or I gotta learn to make my own themes, but I spend to much time with this phone already.

Re: AOKP Milestone 5 Themes
This I dont know. If you dont really feel like flashing to a newer AOKP version it would be worth checking out.
The newest AOKP rom has an updated kernal, and I dont know if its that or not, but since flashing b36 from M5 my phone is SO much smoother with everything I'm doing, and all my settings are the exact same as they were in M5, I also havent tried Franco's tho either.
