I have a mac so I am unsure if wug's tool kit will work. I have unlocked and rooted already. Not sure how to confirm root but other apps that require root don't protest. Clockwork recovery worked once on the backup, after that I've been killing the droid.

Also when I try to reboot into recovery I get the red exclamation. I have followed cyber warrior addendum to rename the system file, can't remember the name, to .bak but that hasn't helped.

Re: bored and wanna flash a rom but scared
Flashing is not that complicated. Sure, there's a lot of craziness that goes on, but the concepts are brutally simple. Want to flash? You have to clear out your old stuff first, so you must wipe your phone. Then you install the new stuff. Then you reboot the phone. Any problems with it? Clear out and repeat!
As long as you take your time, always wipe, and always have an escape mechanism (i.e. you have created a backup and can restore from that backup), you'll be fine. Trust me.Former moderator & advisor.

Well I reread CW's guide and got back on track. I made the nandroid backup. I then bought mybackup pro and tried to backup data and apps. Chrome and one other app kept causing mybackup pro to chuck a wobbly. When I was finally ready to flash I ran out of time.
