How to install S-Voice to galaxy nexus

Hey everyone. I'm new to rooting and all this stuff so I have a question. How do I install the S-Voice app that was leaked to my rooted Galaxy Nexus. It is rooted but with stock 4.0.2 from verizon. Any help would be appreciated.

P.S. I already have the files downloaded and ready to go, I just don't know how to get it on there.

Depends, I've seen a flashable version of S-Voice and the apk. If you have the apk, just use a file browsing program (I use ASTRO) and install from there. If it's the flashable one (ends with .zip), go into your recovery and install .zip through recovery (aka Clockwork Mod).

I have the zip one. It had a bunch of different files in there. Should I just put the whole zip file onto my galaxy and unzip it there?

An expert I am not but what I did was download the file straight to my phone and flashed it in clock work recovery

Hmmmm... I guess I have to unzip it or something because clockwork mod would flash it.

The modded one gets flashed, the regular apk gets side loaded thru a file manager

This isn't S Voice but it's pretty damn close and worth a shot. It's Vlingo's beta which is what I think S Voice is based off of.

I don't think so. Just download astro file manager and load it through there. Astro never asks me for super user access

That's correct you don't need root to sideload

Did you unzip? You don't need to unzip the file. I'm not sure what would happen if the file is unzipped.

Under security settings you have to make sure you check to allow installation from unknown sources as well.

As was pointed out.. S Voice is just a skinned vlingo (with the basic and beta versions combined a bit)

i installed the hacked version, through CWM, on my galaxy nexus running slim ICS. S voice will open up, then keep giving me network errors every time i try to speak to it. i've already tried the build.prop fix, what else can/should i do to get this working? thanks.

thanks, i tried that version and it still wasn't working at first. what eventually got it working was installing both vlingo and S voice. i don't know if there are some system settings that vlingo changes that allow S voice to work, but whatever the case, i'm in business now. i just sat down with my brother and pitted my S voice against his siri, and even had the one-up on him in a few places.

Very nice. Are you able to set alarms? This seems to be the only thing I cannot do with S Voice.

i had to install a new clock program, you can get it here i think:

it's basically the clock from the galaxy S3, turned into a .zip file so you can flash it onto any android phone while you're in recovery mode. it replaces the stock ICS clock, which is fine because the stock android clock was a pain in the neck to set alarms on. i much prefer typing in alarm times (or telling S voice to set them!) instead of having to spin the stupid dials around. i really hated setting alarms on the stock ICS clock, it was about as user-friendly as a backwards pointed gun.
