Did OTA relock, or just break root?
I used the Toolkit before the OTA to unlock and root, and now have the OTA. I want to re-root, but do I also need to unlock again? And, if not, re-rooting doesn't wipe anything, right? Do I need to flash anything for superuser access (I am going to stay on stock for now)?

No, you should just have to re-root.
And no, re-rooting does not wipe. Just unlocking does, unless Wug's/etc. says otherwise.
To check, power down, then hold volume UP + DOWN + POWER. That'll get you to the bootloader. It should say locked/unlocked. Also, whenever you reboot, you should see a little unlocked icon at the bottom of the Google screen.Former moderator & advisor.

I got the OTA last night. I was unlocked/rooted and on stock 4.0.2. Downloaded fine. Installed fine. During the first reboot, during the animation, it froze for about a minute, then rebooted itself all the way through.
I lost root, but expected to. Luckily, I had downloaded and run Voodoo OTA RootKeeper before the OTA. It saves a protected copy of "superuser". A click or 2 later, I was rooted again. Awesome. - 06-10-2012, 02:36 PM #5
