So, AOKP Linaro build...who has it?
Anyone download the link Roman posted on twitter? I'm curious if anyone has tried it out and if they notice any improvements/issues?
I'm also curious to see if the trend will shift to Linaro builds from now on... - 06-11-2012, 03:52 PM #2
Runs fine. You can get it on goo.im.
Imo its a bit more hype than results.. While I do think it's a bit faster, it's not life-changing, lol.

Was curious of this myself. Pretty much heard the same opinion as yours (2defmouze) regarding those who've tried the official CM9. That said, also heard it's snappy as all hell from others. Guess the 30% faster caught my eye. Any reason to expect it on an official AOKP release?

If you want to try a dirty flash you should wipe cache, dalvik and format /system. Then flash the rom and gapps and reboot. If you run into ANY issues then assume it's due to the dirty wipe and you need to do a full one and reflash.
Fwiw I dirty flashed the linaro build over the official b38 and haven't run into any problems as of yet... But I will always recommend that you do full wipes, or understand the risks of dirty flashing and that you aren't allowed to complain when you do one if you have problems.

I think I'm going to wait till the next AOKP Milestone and flash it - who knows if it will be Linaro-based, but from what it "could" do for ICS, I hope it gets integrated with working success.

Just tested, works fine here (faster than usual
)
I believe there's a bug adding wifi networks tho, saw Roman acknowledge it. Remember this build was kind of thrown together for crackflashing fun.. Not fully tested or anything, lol

So when do you think there might be a solid/stable build? Reading here on AC and web that there are issues with GPS, navigation and such. Would like to try it but don't want to flash it and than change back to a stable version.

Re: So, AOKP Linaro build...who has it?
Like I said I hardly see any problems.. I couldn't speculate on a more stable release time. Check the link I posted before to the reddit comment by Roman.. he has added a few more comments indicating he's still experimenting with it, and said once they can stabilize it and confirm there are no bugs he sees no reason not to include it permanently.. So, they're working on it

i flashed the first linaro aokp 38. same aokp as always just faster. if you have a need for speed this is where you want to be.

From the Rootzwiki thread, it sounds like the GPS problems are only being reported by GSM users.
Edit: GPS was working on the old linaro build. The thread on Rootzwiki has numerous reports of GPS not working on O3 and that's my experience as well. Will restore my b38 nandroid for now.
