Need a fix for focus issues with camera.

My camera is not working as it should. The focus is not working at all when taking pics. I used another phone and it is 10× better. I have had this issue with all Roms. I was wondering if anyone had a fix. I hope its not the camera it self. Any help would be nice. Thank you.

If you've had the issue across all ROMs, I would say it is with the hardware... but who knows?

Have you tried other camera apps to rule it out?

Yes. I loaded other apps and otherl Roms.

I agree with oxy; sounds like a hardware issue. What happens you slide the zoom slider? Nothing?

That works fine. The front facing focus is good. It looks as if I'm going to have to send it back and that sucks. Unroot and return sucks

The slider works? Just for front facing though?

I just want to make sure that I have your issue in my head as clear as possible

Works for both but rear isn't focusing at all. Zoom is fine. You would think that wouldn't work If focus didn't?

I would presume that it would "trip" the focus, if you know what I mean. That's really odd. Have you tried Jelly Bean?

I'm on it now. This is why I'm trying to figure it out now. It is odd zoom is good but no focus.

Yeah that's very odd. Have you tried clearing cache in the Gallery app? That's where the camera is located now...

I've noticed a camera issue on Jelly Bean that I haven't experienced on any other Roms. However it wasn't a non-focus issue, my camera would take the picture at the beginning of the flash, not allowing the flash to properly go off.

I haven't been too concerned as I don't find myself in situations where I absolutely have to take a picture, but maybe the camera issues could be a Rom issue.

Fwiw, I use the camera and lot, and I haven't had an issue with it on any ROM.

Well I had to get another phone coming. I don't think there is a fix other than camera replacement. Thanks the thoughts to everyone. This issue has been there for every from I've been on even JB. Everything has been done that's been stated in the thread. I unrooted with wugs toolkit and got my replacement coming. Wugs is sweet by the way because it makes something like this cake.
