The way they are releasing these preview builds is weird. It's in a thread in the aokp general section.

I've been following that one b/c the OP stays on top of it and Zaphod and other Kangsters have commented.

Does this ROM currently allow you to break ringer and notification volumes up like they used to be? I know AOKP ICS ROMS do, my current JB ROM does not and that is one setting that I really miss.

I'm on call for work. I need the volume for texts to be high in case of a job failure, but don't need the ringer to be on at all...

No, right now those two are linked.

I am currently running Vicious Jelly Bean. Can I expect a smooth transition to AOKP? Do I use Titanium Backup to restore all my apps (so that I don't have to re-download everything)? Do I still unzip gapps?

    Thanks in advance!

Everyone here will (wisely) tell you to do a clean wipe of your phone before flashing a new ROM. Especially going from one developer's ROM to another's, I'd highly recommend wiping everything and restoring with Titanium Backup. And yes, install AOKP's latest gapps.

Thanks DDMarck I found the link, but work got in the way today and I am about to pass out from studying for my architecture exams. Been putting them off for a LONG time lol.

Once things settle down and we have nightlies and not previews I can keep track better. I feel like you have to look all over the web instead of just links from their site at this point.

I am still on Preview 1 lol

Here are mirrors for faster download. These are for build 4.

Please don't be thrown by the jb1 tag on the download. Its the same file from the steve spear post.

Build 3 is flying for me, any new changes in 4 worth noting?

Probably going to stay with this until some key features i use all the time get added.

From the OP (Stevespear426) that posted it on RootzWiki, the changelog for Preview 4 is: Fixed su, volume panel, custom navbar, and notification counter.

What are some of the features that you're waiting on? I'm trying to decide when to jump ship from ICS

Also, if I dirty flash from preview to preview, does Google Now lose what it has learned (like which sports team you follow, etc)? Or is that information stored on the server side?

Track switching on the volume keys, More lock screen options, Would love to have the widgets in the nav bar again as well.

The ROM is solid, but features are still coming along. If you decide to wait, id wait till AOKP hits nightlies. Should be feature rich by then i bet.

As far as google now, i have not dirty flashed JB yet, so im not sure. I do however notice it remembers major locations (Home, work) without me telling it, so some information has to be kept server side.

It is good to be back on AOKP. Flashed preview 3 earlier today and running great so far. Guess I'll have to flash preview 4 tomorrow.
