Re: [ROM][CM10][JB] Euroskank JellyBro
Just want to put this out here--I went from a stock locked device running ICS to an unlocked rooted device running AOKP, fully restored and setup, in 34 minutes. IMO, the time complaints can be a bit overblown

Re: [ROM][CM10][JB] Euroskank JellyBro
I'm sure anyone mentioning time is doing a clean wipe and manually reinstalling all apps and settings. I haven't had a good experience with Titanium Backup, the two times I used it. Even though I payed for the Pro key, I manually reinstall all my apps.
I've clean wiped at least 15 times in the last 2 months trying all the ROMs out there.
I like that the Market remembers every app that I've installed now, however scrolling through apps I don't use anymore is tedious too. - 09-20-2012, 04:48 PM #978

Check my TiBu guide.. You probably just need some tips and pointers. I use TiBu after every full wipe and I'd say dmmarck's time of 30 something minutes to get back fully set up is standard. I can get there in less than 30 if I'm not distracted by tv or something like I usually am, lol.

Re: [ROM][CM10][JB] Euroskank JellyBro
I agree with dmmack and 2defmouze. I have followed the tibu guide and I have not had any issues at all. With restoring and setting up my widgets and phone, it takes me around 30 minutes or less when doing a clean install.

Re: [ROM][CM10][JB] Euroskank JellyBro
I understand and accept the fact that Google Now is sluggish with viewing in typing on this rom. Is it this sluggish on a regular stock version of jelly bean? Or is it just sluggish in the ROMs that port the feature over?

Re: [ROM][CM10][JB] Euroskank JellyBro
I downloaded the CM10 Euroskank ROM to try it out on my TORO Nexus. I flashed a version 4 of Vicious a couple weeks back and it helped clean up some issues with an earlier version of it that was on the phone when I got. Been reading good things about this Euroskank and wanted to try. My question has to do with Kernals. I'm new to this stuff. Is that some other thing you can flash different versions of that's not part of the ROM? You mentioned a particular one in your post here. I've attached a screen shot to show the kernel that is on my phone. Should I flash something different to use with this Euroskank ROM? Just what does the Kernel do?
Well for some reason I can't upload a screenshot. Tells me its hosted by Tapatalk which I'm not using, and then when it tries to upload it errors out with a message about missing some parameters??
Oh well any who the kernel on my phone is 3.0.36-leankernel-4.0.0-04197-gf36ff07-dirtyimoseyon@Ubuntu.
Whatever all that is.

Re: [ROM][CM10][JB] Euroskank JellyBro
People get different results with different kernels. You can try out the kernel you have now, but if your phone starts acting funny don't blame the rom. Personally I would stick with the stock Euroskank kernel and if you don't like it then flash the kernel you have now.

Re: [ROM][CM10][JB] Euroskank JellyBro
Don't worry about all the questions, we are here to help. Yes the kernel is a different file you flash. Roms come with their own kernel included, but if you want to try a different kernel then you would download the kernel file to your phone and flash it as a separate file.

Re: [ROM][CM10][JB] Euroskank JellyBro
Thanks! I've started reading thru the HITCHHIKERS GUIDE recommended above and I did see some info on the kernels that helped me understand those better.
I want to say that I have very much enjoyed the forums here on AC "running into" a lot of real helpful people.
