    Default So What's The Best?

I'm new to the whole rooting/rom/flashing game. What are some good roms/tweaks etc. that are great? I installed a Jelly Bean build last night and I was just wondering what else out there is awesome.

Check out the Sourcery JB Rom. Rom allows tons of customizations without having to download additional .zips for the. Change the status bar, nav keys, colors, themes both in house and Theme Chooser plus more.

Cyanogemod 7 is a classic, and for good reason; it's quite similar to the android standard, but is mad customizable. Certainly a good place to start.
I suggest messing around with launchers, too.

AOKP's nightly build 1 for Jelly Bean is really stable. It has some tweaks in there. Unbelievably good rom.

CM7 is a gingerbread rom. CM 9 is ICS and CM10 is JB. I wouldn't want to run a GB rom on a GNEX

The two biggest ROMs currently are CM10 and AOKP. Both are solid and would work very well. I am running Xenon HD which is basically an AOKP port with the dev touching up some things, very smooth and fast. I would recommend that you try AOKP or CM10 to start and then go from there based on which you like. Basically all the other ROMs out there are going to be AOKP or CM10 based so start with genesis lol.

If you want more to flash you could always flash a kernel. Right now I would recommend Franco or Trinity. Both solid and will provide great performance and batter life.

As stated, CM7 is NOT recommended, 9 and 10 only. But i do agree with the launchers. Changing to Nova or Apex will open up alot of new features to customize.

As far as whats currently the "Best"? I'm running AOKP/Nova/Trinity. Out of the 3 or 4 kernels/roms ive tried this seems to be the best so far.

I'm new to the whole android game in general. With that said, I chose Bugless Beast and it has been amazing. I just wanted something to be close to a stock JB rom and check things out and get comfortable with the phone and all the goodies(without a lot of bells and whistles to get me in trouble). But apparently if you want customizations for days, go with CM10 or AOKP(I have never tried either).

OK I'll look for the download links lol, but do you know if any improve the vzw signal. I barely have reception at home now ans some dead spots. Never has this issue with my Dinc. My wife's iPhone has good reception too

No, roms generally have no affect on your actual signal. They can change how it's displayed, but they won't actually change its strength.

Kernels and basebands/radios do affect that, so the ROMs kernel may help.
