I still call my Storm a beta phone amongst a bunch of other things that would get me banned if I typed them here. I don't care what issues the Nexus might have, I'm buying it immediately and I will be happier than I ever was with the Storm. Blackberry completely dropped the ball with the Storm line and really screwed customers over. I just love that I try to download certain apps that work for all OS types, but the exception for Blackberry is the Storm phones.
End of rant.
I'm in a similar situation. Currently using a Storm2 (which never quite got out of beta), but got sick of being effectively "end-of-lifed" on most of the interesting applications. Plus it never really seems to have gotten out of beta, either. I like my phone, but it is aging very poorly compared to current offerings.
My upgrade was due in July, so I monitored the Bionic forums/release with great interest, and now am doing the same with the Prime/Droid Prime/Galaxy Nexus, whatever they are calling it today (that and the Droid HD/RAZR/Spyder). Yes, the similarities are rather amusing. "This will be the greatest phone ever" giving way to "love it", "hate it", "oh noes, it has bugs", and "battery life sucks" threads. It will be interesting to see what people are saying after it actually hits the market. I highly suspect it will be more of the same, although perhaps Samsung will hit a genuine home run with this one.
