GNex recieved kernel update today

seems like they are still working out last minute bugs. isnt the kernel related directly to radio firmware and power management?

They do that with just about every phone. Most have an ota available as soon as you start up the phone the first time. Nothing new here especially with lte they all seem to have last minute ota's at launch or a few days before/after.

For the most part, it's hardware compatibility code.

Business as usual. Remember, this is a Google device. It gets updates as they are ready. There is no schedule. I've no doubt p3droid or others will try to put a spin on it that its related to the delays.
