Does anyone else think the nexus is too hot (over heating)
Its not horrible but definitely warm towards upper left screen, all of the back. Worse than any previous phone... any chance this goes away a little? Also is anyone else anoyed with the insane ammount of fingerprints lol... both of theese issues are getting on my nerves. Otherwise I like it.

My Nexus S 4G is hot too, especially with the Wimax radio on.
I am sure my GN will be hot too. - 12-15-2011, 12:20 PM #32
Re: Does anyone else think the nexus is too hot (over heating)
its gonna be warm quite a bit for the first few days because youre going to be using it pretty heavily
. once you get on a regular usage cycle, i would expect it to only get warm for the usual reasons (heavy data usage; heavy gps)

Phone gets very hot
Quick question, I always charge when I'm in the truck. With my new Nexus, the phone got so hot that I could not hold it on my ear! I went to the Verizon store to complain and found that the demo unit was very hot, also. The demo unit was significantly hotter than any other phone. Would you please check your's when charging does it get to hot to hold to your ear? Otherwise, a awesome phone.
Thanks

Re: Phone gets very hot
I've had an Evo, Epic, and Nexus; all using the same car charger. They seem to behave differently. I guess I wonder which car charger you are using? But otherwise, this is normal, especially in the car/truck where it may be more-so in the sun a little and in constant use.

Re: Phone gets very hot
yeah, mine was a bit warm this morning after playing with it. The top part of the phone is the part that is warm. I haven't charge it yet because I'm attempting to discharge the battery and fully recharge it. I will definitely use a bluetooth when talking on the phone for a long duration ...
will report back. - 12-15-2011, 02:04 PM #40

Re: Phone gets very hot
I have a feeling the larger screens get on phones along with the thinner they are getting that heat will be more and more noticeable with these phones. Does the Razr get hot? I haven't charged my GN yet and havent had it get "hot" for me, but I haven't been able to play around with it too much yet.

Re: Phone gets very hot
I've had it on the wall charger for an hour or two now. I was still using it, texting and checking Facebook and such. I noticed the top part of the screen (and the back cover) were strangely warm - pulled off the battery cover and the top area inside was kind of hot. Reminds me of how when my OG Droid would get hot (about 40 deg C).
I'm not too worried about it. Leaving the phone alone for ten or twenty minutes cooled it offVerizon Galaxy Nexus | Bugless Beast 4.1.1

Re: Nexus getting hot?
Seems like it only get's hot while in use. I turned it off and it charged quickly and temp was very cool. I charged off pc and again cool. So, must only be a problem when charging and using the GN. Check for your self and let me know.
Thanks again

Re: Nexus getting hot?
Turn off the 4g radio unless you need it on. Will save power and should cool it down. I wonder if its taking on too much power at once. Is there an app for monitoring hardware on this?

Re: Nexus getting hot?
Just like the Fascinate, amoled screen gets stupid hot. My fingers are sweaty. Tbolt runs MUCH cooler.

Re: Nexus getting hot?
Every LTE phone I've had has gotten hotter than hell when I've used it. I just accept it for what it is. I like to use it, let it get hot, and slap it on people's necks.
