Voicemail Notification Icon

After my first voicemail, I now have a notification icon that won't go away. I've cleared out my entire VM inbox and still have the notification saying 1 new voicemail. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Do you have good signal? I've noticed problems with using the stock voicemail system and alerts not going away for hours/days even if you don't have any VM. But it usually only happens in bad service areas where your phone can't connect to the system and recognize the inbox is empty.

I've had good signal for hours now, the alert won't go away or be discarded. It's really starting to bother me.

I've had the little icon stay on other phones for hours and even days in the past. I don't think it's a hardware issues, it's happened on other phones on verizon. I'd bet it would clear up by tomorrow.

Personally, I really like using google voice for voicemail. Gives you a free "visual voicemail" app and allows free texting over wifi.
