rtandon87: Can you send me a log of your syncing process? (see my previous posts for instructions)

LeCoq77: Some people don't allow 3rd-party apps access to their data, that might be why a few contacts are missing.

Are the photos that sync from FB actual HD quality or are they about the same quality as FriendCaster? Would rather use this than manually convert photos but if they are still somewhat blurry will keep doing it my way.

I got Haxsync to sync on Galaxy Nexus but it does not show hi-res pic.

I'm not talking about thumbnail photos on the right when you are in "People". I'm talking about when you go into your individual contact and it shows photo awfully stretching out.

I wonder if it is because I also have Friendcaster sync as well? Or is there something I have to mess with in Haxsync preference to get the photo hi-res?

Anybody knows a fix to this? Thanks.

mistamista2000: the pictures are currently synced in 256x256, the highest resolution android 4.0 allows. Most other apps use 96x96, which was the previous max.

lennyd44: Friendcaster could have a higher priority than HaxSync for contact images, try Menu -> Edit on a contact in the People-App, it should show the individual sub-contacts (i.e. friendcaster, haxsync, google, w/e). Go to the HaxSync contact, touch its picture and select "use this photo"

You're right. It looks like Friendcaster takes precedence over Haxsync. So I uninstalled then reinstalled Friendcaster but do not add its account for syncing. Problem solved. Thanks.

i have an issue using haxsync, when i choose to sync only to existing contacts, it does so with the ones it matches. but then i cannot choose to match other contacts which it did not sync. if i then choose to sync all contacts, it does so, but i cannot choose to only view google contacts in the people app anymor. the haxsync contacts all show, not matter what i do. i have chosen only google contacts to show in the settings.

    Hi,
I bought this app today and, for a lot of my contacts, it's great but several (including my two best mates) are not being pulled over.
I unticked the contact matching so it would pull all my Facebook friends down. I then went into my contacts and tried to manually 'Join' them to Facebook ones. This was fine for a couple of people but for the main ones there is just nothing with which to match. It seems to have just failed to pull anything from Facebook for those contacts.

Please help cos it's not much use if it won't do everyone!

EDIT: So reading a little more it seems that the ones that don't work might be down to permissions set in Facebook? Does anyone know what permission it is so I can ask my friends to change it? Thanks muchly

It syncs all my fb contacts, but when I choose to see only my Gmail contacts, it shoes a hand full of pics. Even with people with last names who are synced through hacsync. It works when I merge them each one by hand but that'll take forever. I but fuzziness to strong and still nothing changed. So unless this is fixed I want my money back as the trial time is.over.

You need to sync your contacts by hand. Even the native sync from gingerbread couldn't do it properly, manual join works perfectly

Hi, I have two questions (nooooo, really? )
My phone is a DesireHD running Virtuous Quattro RC3 rom.

    1)
the first time I installed Haxsync it eventually showed me a sort of settings-page asking if I wanted to sync specific groups of FB contacts (all, only with numbers, etc) and other things.
How can I access again to that page?

    2)
I had my gmail contacts stripped down of pictures.
    Then I run Haxsync.
It downloaded the pictures fine ... but almost all of them are NOT synched with my google contacts.
When I click a contact on the phone it shows only an "empty" Haxsync profile, without any phone number.
If I then manually join it to the proper g-contact it works fine, on the phone, but my web g-contact does not show the FB picture Haxsync was supposed to sync.
How can I solve this problem?

    Thanks for any help

I don't have Facebook installed on my phone, and don't want it installed. All I want is for my Google contact photos to not be pixelated. Will this app do that?

Hi guys. I'm having some problems with haxsync. Some of my pictures are correctly syncing but others are coming in as low res pictures. I looked on facebook and the pictures online are good quality with no noticeable pixelation. I checked and made sure my Google contact photos were deleted. Any thoughts or suggestions?

Love the app, but is there a reason we can't get even higher resolution pics for 720p screens like the galaxy nexus? Under the profile pictures album on profiles a higher resolution pic is available for harvesting.

    Hey guys,
sorry for the late response, I just went through exam hell at university.

Version 1.6 should be live soon, its major new feature is manually selecting additional contacts to sync.

Natolx: the 256x256 restriction is imposed by the Android-API, it's not possible to have a contact image larger than that. I don't know why Google made that decision (if I had to guess I'd say performance reasons), but as soon as they change that, HaxSync will update to the new max

Hasimir: the page you're looking for is System Settings -> Accounts and Sync -> HaxSync -> Sync Preferences
HaxSync doesn't upload the images to Google Contacts, as that would scale them down to 96x96px and kind of defeat the purpose.

ccmbr002: Not all people allow 3rd-party-apps to access their Galleries. HaxSync needs to access them in order to download the high-res image, if it can't do that, it'll fall back to the lower-res-image which is available without gallery access.

Can you - confirm - sync a low-res picture to the gmail contact and store a hi-res copy to that "photo" field? This should keep you gmail with a picture and show a hi-res picture in the overview.

    Large photos

Android now supports high resolution photos for contacts. Now, when you push a photo into a contact record, the system processes it into both a 96x96 thumbnail (as it has previously) and a 256x256 "display photo" that's stored in a new file-based photo store (the exact dimensions that the system chooses may vary in the future). You can add a large photo to a contact by putting a large photo in the usual PHOTO column of a data row, which the system will then process into the appropriate thumbnail and display photo records.

the app doesn't used to sync anything! Also it force closed when I used to select individual contacts option!

But I managed to fix this problem by remaking the account! Later found out that I had reset my password to a new one! :-P

Hope this post helps somebody! :-D
