Default GNEX not vibrating on notifications

My GNEX has magically stopped vibrating when getting text messages. this isn't good as I have to have my phone on vibrate only at work but now don't know when i get a text. I have checked all the settings a hundred times and everything says "always vibrate" so idk why it isn't working.

I installed "Volume Control +" a few days ago thinking it was the "Volume+" app that just turns up the overall volume (saw on droid-life and other places). I realized it was wrong and then uninstalled it. It wasn't until after i uninstalled it that i noticed the phone not vibrating any longer but i cannot 100% say that this is the reason.

any ideas on what i can do to make it work?

*EDIT: I reinstalled the volume control + app. It is again vibrating. I would rather not have this app as i think it is unnecessary. Anyone know why it won't vibrate when i uninstall the app? or how to completely remove the app so maybe ICS will do it on its own?

A lot of times you specifically have to go into the app's settings and change it from there. It is at the very very bottom of the settings list and under the notification settings heading. It says vibrate, and there are three settings - always, only when silent, and never. You have probably accidentally set this to never or something.

nope. Checked in each app specifically. All of them are set to always.

maybe it IS vibrating and you cant feel it cause its so weak. mine barely vibrates just once when receiving a call. i would leave my old nexus one on vibrate at work and i could hear it vibrating whenever i got a call/text. i'm gonna be missing calls like crazy with this one.

so volume+ makes it so that it vibrates more often?

I'm having a similar issue. I'm using two batteries and just swap them when one goes dead. I'm finding that the sound and vibrate is not working after I power back on...I have to power down and back on before sound and vibrate work again...
