Keyboard predictions not working

So when I type in a text field in a browser, I don't get any of my predictions. This happens with the stock keyboard, as well as SwiftKey, and both in Dolphin and the stock browser. Anything above the top row of keys is just gone, and it's not very responsive. It's completely fine in any other app, though. Anybody else getting this?

It's on any site, by the way, this was just a fast way to get an example.

It's always been this way on Android - so much of your text entry in the browser is non-standard words (passwords, websites, billing info, etc) that it's usually left out

I'll have to disagree with you, there. This is my 3rd Android phone, and the first one to do this. My wife's Fascinate, right next to mine, and on the same page, will work just fine.

It's a documented bug since launch day. I agree. It's very annoying.

Swype will predict fine. Search for it in the forums.

Well, call me crazy, but I'm not so sweet on Swype. It was cool and exciting for about a week when I had it on my Fascinate, and then I just wanted to get back to typing.

When you say launch day, are you just referring to this phone, or Android? I only ask because iBowToAndroid said that this is the way it's always been on Android, and I wanted to know how many people thought that. It's always been a bit slow when typing in a form, but I've never not been able to get to my predictions.

Most of my web based stuff can be done in dedicated apps these days, so it's not a huge deal, but when I try to comment on a story on any of my news outlets, I don't really have a choice. Well, I could just go to a computer, but why would I do that when I have manufactured sex appeal in my hands? :)

I am typing this reply from my wife's Droid 3. The auto correct is working perfectly. This is NOT an Android issue. Its an issue with ICS on the Galaxy Nexus. This GN is the first Android I've had that has this issue. Its a BUG that has been with the GN since its launch plain and simple. :)

And there's our proof :). I hope they fix it soon, I would love to be able to get sucked in to inane arguments on engadget again.
