Long phone calls causing strange sounds?

This has happened twice now where I will hear strange beeping, crackling, and static sounds. It takes about 45 minutes on a call then all of this starts happening on my end. The person I'm speaking with doesn't hear any of the sounds. After all this starts happening it'll take a few more minutes and the person on the other end says that my voice sounds metallic and that I'm cutting in and out.

The sounds that I'm hearing on my end happen at very random after the 45 minuteish mark. Sometimes they are very loud and hurt my ear. Not sure how I could even reproduce this in a store other then to be on the phone that long and then walk into the store while it's happening.

Anyone else experience this?

I'm having the same problem but it doesn't seem to require a 45 minute call. It happens fairly randomly. The sound is quite loud and high pitched, like a screech. Hope this gets fixed.

prob not the same issue but i was on the phone yesterday when I heard a high pitched static sound and she heard another woman coming in saying "hello, hello?"

i was also having this problem when my buddies were bored and we were prank calling walmart.. we tried a couple different walmarts but still the same sounds.. sorta creepy actually

Well, it happened again yesterday and started only a few minutes into the call. The problem became much worse when I got into my friends car and he turned up the heat, it was nearly all static. Then I turned the heat down and it went back to the normal pops and static sounds. I really hope Google knows about this problem.

I'm glad I guess to hear others are having the same problem, because it's not my phone then having some type of hardware issue.

It's some kind of error on Samsungs in IMO. I don't have a Nexus but have a Charge and have the same problems. Sometimes it can be within a minute or two and its just horrible and I am forced to remove the
phone from my ear and end the call.

I have had my phone since launch and have never experienced this problem. Just chiming in so that you know that all phones aren't suffering this issue. Have you tried a reset? Alternatively, maybe you should contact Verizon and switch out the device.

I had this happen tonight after not happening for awhile. It sucks.
