Random reboots
So, after long deliberation I decided to get my first android handset and went with the gnex. So far, I am very pleased with the phone as a whole; definitely beats my old Samsung omnia. Anyway, the one main thing that has been bothering me about this phone is the random rebooting it does. I have noticed that this mostly happens when I am listening to music through the Google music app. I was wondering if anyone else was suffering from this issue as well and if they have found a solution.
Thanks guys.
Oh and on a side note is the bad reception that people have been reporting a hardware issue or a software one?

Re: Random reboots
I had one random reboot while running google navigation. Since then I have rooted the phone and install a different ROM, and the phone is much smoother than before. I have not had any random reboots doing anything. Maybe it will be something to be taken care of with an update.
As for the signal, running 4.0.3, my signal seems better based on the signal readings compared to before. I never dropped any calls though before. It may just be me, but I am going with a software issue. - 01-02-2012, 10:38 PM #4
Re: Random reboots
That sucks and it's what I'm afraid of happening. I had some random reboots. It's probably done it about three or four times now since I've had the phone. It's been long periods in between the times it's done it and it hasn't done it on a call yet. It did it last week and, I just happened to notice it when it was sitting on my desk.
I remember the Nexus S having the same problem but they updated and fixed it. - 01-02-2012, 11:52 PM #5

Re: Random reboots
I too have been bothered by random reboots. For me it happens about every other day and has happened most often while listening too Google Music but also using the home screen and using the native SMS app. I had VZ Backup Assistant disabled but otherwise I'm running a stock phone. I enabled VZ Backup Assistant two days ago and I'm waiting to see if my phone reboots again. Perhaps that was a conflict?
Did any of you also have VZ Backup disabled?
