Totally agree. I'm taking it right to the wire.

There will always be a better phone... But there are only a few actively developed phones...

Nice screen. Which clock skin are you using?

Re: Waiting till the 15th to decide if I'm keeping the Nexus
Yeah Im gonna have to take it right to the edge. Went to EPCOT yesterday. Even on 3G I could not make it all day and I had reception problems galore. Keep in mind that Disney normally has awesome coverage. On top of that the phone reset its self 3 times yesterday. Now I did put the phone through its paces taking photos and updating Facebook. However my wife with her Rezound was doing the same amount of work and it sipped it's battery so that by the time we left she had plenty of juice to spare. Plus she never had a reception issue. I love ICS and have been OK with the Nexus, but it seems more and more to me that this phone is great if you are always near a power source. That works for a lot of folks. But I am on the go way too much and away from a power outlet most of the time. I'm not gloating. I want to stick with the GN, but if it it can't meet my needs then I'm going to be forced to switch phones

What do you do keep the screen on all the time? Even on the standard battery I can get 14 hours pretty easily. With the extended yesterday I got 15 hours, but I was on it for a solid 3 hours the last part of the day before it died.

Re: Waiting till the 15th to decide if I'm keeping the Nexus
Im not getting the extended battery to me its not worth it just for 1 to 1 1/2 hr more time ,your opionion might vary however.

I get a lil more time out of my stock battery 16 to 17 hrs which is fine for me, of course that just depends how long I am on it .
I mainly use it for emails, sms, twitter, web surfing, youtube.
I usually put it on the charger when it gets down to 7% to 4 %SGSIII : White 32 gb model with 32 gb sdcard

It's not your dream phone.
It's the one after that!©

Oh if it weren't for me being on it more toward the end of the day I could easily get 18 to 20 hours out of the extended battery. Of course I've only put it through 2 complete cycles so far. For $25 it was worth it to me. It makes the phone more comfortable to hold because it gets rid of the lip at the bottom.

Re: Waiting till the 15th to decide if I'm keeping the Nexus
i like ext battery bc an extra hr or two allows me to not carry a spare, however im back in school these days so there are outlets everywhere if i need one towards the end of the day. I know this will vary for everyone, but i get around 13 to 15 hrs moderate use on average with ext.
As for op, not returning this phone, love it, its not perfect but its closer than anything else ive had. Will see whats out at ces just for fun. Not buying for at least a year i hope. - 01-07-2012, 11:55 AM #13

Re: Waiting till the 15th to decide if I'm keeping the Nexus
Exactly. Guess what happens after the phones announced at CES get released? MORE phones get released, and they'll likely be even MORE advanced! OMGOMGOMG and then what will people do?
To me, it's dumb to constantly be chasing the next best thing. I couldn't care less what comes out at CES because none of them will be Nexus phones. - 01-07-2012, 09:16 PM #20

Re: Waiting till the 15th to decide if I'm keeping the Nexus
You know, I bet if I wait five years, I'll be able to buy a phone that is way more advanced than the phones that people have now. Ha! Imagine that! May as well just keep on waiting to see what comes out next! I have a hunch that something better will come along!

Quick question. How are you able to get more than 5 icons on the dock? And how are you able to move the app drawer?

Re: Waiting till the 15th to decide if I'm keeping the Nexus
I wish it were that simple. I have the extended battery. I have disabled all of the apps that I can. I use K9 to monitor 3 POP email accounts. One syncs ever 15 minutes during the week, and once an hour on the weekends. The other two sync hourly only. I monitor two twitter accounts that sync hourly. I have weather bug running and that syncs every 4 hours. At most I spend, on average, about 10 minutes out of the day on Facebook. No videos, no music. I keep it on CDMA to avoid draining the battery. I am running stock. Short of throwing Juice Defender on there I am at a complete loss.
Today the phone rebooted twice. Oh and the wife and I went to one of our favorite camping sites today. I got nothing with the GN. Im talking -120 dBm, She had a great signal with the Rezound (-83 dBm). Who knows, maybe I'm just snake bit?
Like I alluded to earlier, I do not want to switch to another phone. However wants and needs are two different things.

Re: Waiting till the 15th to decide if I'm keeping the Nexus
I might be returning mine sadly. I am lucky to get 4hr on a charge which is unacceptable to me and my signal sucks. Lose 4g in houston constantly and am really annoyed because I love this phone and will not root on principle because my phone should function relatively well on its own. I like rooting and am not against it but it should improve the phone not be the only way you can use it.

Re: Waiting till the 15th to decide if I'm keeping the Nexus
I was skeptical at first after reading all of the negative posts on battery and reception but I have been pleasantly surprised. It does just as well as my Charge and is a lot nicer and has Dev support.
When I went to Disney last year, I ran my Fascinate out in just 6 hrs. Between pictures and checking ride times, it killed it. That is why I started taking more than one battery on vacations
. I have the extended and the stock one for the Nexus. The stock battery stays put with the extended battery door so I will just take the stock battery with me on trips. There might be a 3000+ mah battery released at some point. Sucks day to day but is nice when on vacation.
