Is this some sort of desperate attempt to preserve battery life? Let the OS manage the apps.

I listen to in tunes radio app at might before bed in sleep mode. In the morning, I close and swipe off the right way, the program will still sit running all day taking up memory and battery.
I can't restrict it to wifi cause I listen on the road

Sigh.
"Running" is a misnomer. It doesn't mean it's actively open in the foreground, using resources. It means that it's loaded into RAM, ready to be used. If you're really that worried about it, swipe it out of your multitasking list when you're done with it.vanquish (stock rooted)
