I found out the hard way that the notification light turns red when the GN is submerged in water.
For normal notifications, it just turns white. So that's red and white.

Does the light display any other colors?

... just bored while I wait patiently for my replacement GN to be shipped to me.

I can't believe how much I rely on my GN.... there's so little to do on my tablet or computer!

Download Light Flow from the Android Market and you can make the notification light just about any color you can think of for whatever notifications you'd like.

If I get a google voice voicemail, it flashes green. On my fiancee's nexus, yahoo mail notifications flashes purple (at a faster flash rate too).

I don't use Light Flow, but you can change the color of the light for some things... I have Twitter set to Green, Handcent SMS I change depending on who is contacting me, and Facebook seems to just be blue. The one thing I'm kind of surprised about is that even though the phone was made for Google+ integration, there's no stock way to have it light up for G+ notifications.

Well part of it is that you get used to each notification's color and so you instantly associate that color with that specific notification.

Anything Google is green , blue for Facebook. I have a kitchen timer that flashes red. And texts and emails are white. I did have light flow on it but then I uninstalled it .I think some of these are changes that I made. Although I had my exchange account set at purple and that is now white.

it is an RGB LED, it can be pretty much any color. at least 255 different colors on a basic scale.
