    Default Alarm Clock Issue

This morning my alarm started to go off and I picked up the phone to turn it off, however before I could, the display changed to my home screen and the option to hit dismiss or snooze was gone. I switched back to the alarm clock app, but was not able to turn the alarm off or hit snooze. I went in and tried to set a separate alarm and "un-do" the time for the alarm that was presently ringing, but that did not work either.

I put the phone on silent mode but it kept ringing and I tried airplane mode as well. Finally I powered the device down and then turned it back on and it stayed off.

Has anyone else had this type of issue?

Go to notification window by sliding your finger from top of the screen to bottom. Then you can dismiss the alarm from there.

You can also press the volume buttons to dismiss an alarm if you go to Settings: Volume Buttons: select Dismiss.

    Step-by-step

    Click on your Clock app

Then click on "Set Alarm" or "Alarm set: xyxyxyxy" on the homescreen

At the top right, click on the three vertical dots and then select "Settings"

In the volume settings, the fifth option down will say "Volume Buttons"

Click on that and then select the "Dismiss" and then you're set.

I had to find that because the wife would get pissed off in the morning when I'm half asleep trying to find where the dismiss button went after I would accidentally press something other than snooze/dismiss on the screen.

If you have the analog clock still on your homescreen as it was out of the box, tap it. Then tap the 3 dots that are up at the top right corner. Then tap on settings. Then tap volume buttons. Then tap none, snooze or dismiss depending on what you want them to do.

If you don't still have the analog clock on your homescreen, go to apps and then tap the clock app.

Thanks all. I was looking in ICS Settings, not the clock's Settings.
