    Default Disabled apps becoming un-disabled?

I've disabled google books and earth and music and videos.

Lately, for some reason, they have been "auto" un-disabling by themselves.

This never happened until this week.

Additionally, lately, maps has been activating by itself, and I can see it on the recent apps screen as a blank image with the maps logo.

Any ideas on how to resolve this?

If rooted, delete/rename the apk using your favorite file manager.

I heard that if I did that, I will run into problems when trying to update the andriod OS.

    Is this true?

Also, does anyone know why these specific apps keep doing this.

It seems google earth, books, and videos and the ones that are auto un-disabling themselves.

It usually happens if you run an update on the app with market....

For some reason I can't disable google earth. Do I uninstall updates and then disable?

There's a thread on Google Mobile Help Forum, but there hasn't been an acknowledgement from Google about the issue. You might want to report your issues there:

Maybe if enough of us complain we can get a resolution to this very annoying problem.
