Question of opinion
I am having trouble deciding whether to turn 4g on or off. Currently I don't get 4g coverage in my office. So that's 8.5 hours a day 5 days a week. And at home i use wifi and don't need 4g. So I've kept the radio off. But I feel like I'm not getting the most out of my phone.
If that was your situation what would you do?
I do have a charger at my desk in my car and at home. And have the Samsung 2100 extended battery

Re: Question of opinion
I have a charger at work and in my car, granted I have 4g where I am. However by leaving 4g on you can do simultaneous voice and data. I'd leave it on if you got spare USB cables.

I charge at night and in the car. I also leave Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and GPS on full time. On rare occasions I will USB charge at my desk. This just seams to work well for me.

Re: Question of opinion
Leave it on for a few days and see if the battery drain is worth the speed to you. When I know I'm going to be at the office, I leave 4g on, because I know my phone will be charged fully when I leave.
On the weekend, I leave 4g off bc I'm not usually near a charger - 02-03-2012, 02:04 PM #5

1) What data package do you have?
2) How is your home wifi speed-wise? - 02-03-2012, 02:14 PM

Re: Question of opinion
I leave it off unless I'm in a 4G area and need to down/upload something quickly or I know I won't have WiFi and will need to do voice and data at the same time.

I think it wouldn't be an issue if there was a true 4G on/off widget available. So from what I'm hearing the biggest benefit is simultaneous voice and data. The speed is a big plus but I don't need it all the time. I have wifi at home and I'm not steaming stuff all day long. However I might get a phone call that I need voice and data at the some time and I don't want to have to disconnect the call turn 4g on and then call the person back.
The caveat to that being if I'm going to be away from a charger for a long time I may want to turn 4G off.

Re: Question of opinion
So you don't get 4G at the office and you use your faster wifi at home... I guess the real question for you is how often are you not at either one of those places? If you're only away from either one of those places for like to 2 hours a day I don't really see the point in having it on. But that's just me.
