I was just reading that article too and came running over here... Well... Internet running... Which means I shifted a little in my chair.

In all seriousness, If this is the case can we have Verizon give us an exchange? I mean I bought this phone to show Verizon I would spend my money on a true pure Google experience and here they go maybe messing it all up? Ill take my upgrade back and wait for the next line of phones to come out.

I came here to see what people on these forums were saying.

This is absolute nonsense, and I'd rather go to a dev phone than deal with all of this stuff from Google.

And also, as of yesterday, Google Wallet works on unlocked Galaxy Nexus on AT&T, so I can't see why I won't want to go to AT&T unlocked.

Now, assuming this is true (and I hope it's just a temporary situation), I think it might be worth exploring the possibilites of a class-action lawsuit against Verizon.

Wow, right after I post that I'm satisfied with this phone and put, my GSM model for sale on Ebay. The whole experience with this phone and Verizon has been weird. Maybe I need to remove my GSM phone from Ebay before someone bids on it LOL!!

Going to wait before running to hills for any potential official response to this. Regardless, the Verizon Nexus has a huge dev community support and its still a stock experience device.

Notice they also pulled Sprint's nexus 4g. As of right now, no one really knows what's going on.

Here's a good question, why does everybody always go and automatically attack Verizon for this, IF there is anything to even attack them over? How do we know this wasn't Google's doing?

The Sprint Nexus S 4G was also removed in the same way. Did Verizon remove that too?

I would hang on for an official response from Google before you guys throw Verizon under the bus. Just chill.

    Just my 2 cents.

I still like my phone anyway. Its stock Android and I will never own a phone with a UI again. Ui's on phones are not Android. They are something else.Ya they do the same thing but look nothing like stock. I want stock and thus phone us it.

I'd wait a little before overreacting guys. I know that's a lot to ask the internet, but I'm sure there's a reason for this. In case none of you noticed, The Nexus S 4G and Xoom LTE are not on there either. Could very much be that Google doesn't think of carrier-locked phones as developer devices. It doesn't necessarily mean we wont get the updates, as we have, further down the line, from Google.
So many phones, so little time.

Yes, but even if this is the case, proprietary binaries cannot be used or anything. This is very, very bad news, for the people who run custom ROMs on their nexus (like me) or people who run stock.

    It's basically a lose-lose.

Google has demanded all new phones have the same look with the holo ui so most will start to look like like ours and if we don't have full update support well who cares. Others phones will run the nexus over if they look sort of the same and have better hardware and this one has no update advantage.

As I understand it, Google has required the manufactorers to include the Holo files so that the app developers can use them in apps.

This in no way makes any phones start to look like stock. A look at the leaked out videos of Sense 4.0 will make that clear.

As I said, I saw this and came running here... I'm not just saying it because I'm posting this here, but the AC team always does a good job of rumor control and giving us facts. If they confirm this, then maybe I'll start to feel a little short changed...

Until then... How about that 4.65" screen??? Awesome, right? No? Nobody? Beuller...

More just so that Verizon knows that if they caused this, users are not happy. I don't really care about the money for myself, but if (and obviously until Google comments we don't know), as soon as I walk out of Verizon, I want them to know that the customers are sick of their decisions re: Nexus. Google Wallet was absurd, but this is crossing the line.

I really want to agree with you, but I mean, I can't call BS on google's own webpages, which have removed all CDMA devices from everywhere.

Eh... I think people are panicking over nothing. I mean, I don't know what this would mean for the dev/ custom ROM community, but I can't see Google just up and dropping update support for the GNex. Even if they are having problems with Verizon (which doesn't seem to be the case, since as others have pointed out, the Nexus S and Xoom tablets have also been removed), that's no reason to take it out on the people that bought the phone.

Besides, isn't Google the one that's been trying to push the manufacturers to support software updates for each of their devices for at least 18 months? Why would Google not only throw that out the window, but drop support for the newest Nexus phone when it hasn't even been out two full months yet?

As far as my phone goes, I'd like to think I know it inside and out. When it comes to adb, I haven't the slightest idea.

Is it possible that they're making two different adb's? One for CDMA devices and one for GSM?

Again, I have no clue. I'm just trying to figure this out like the rest of you.

    time to relax...

Update 2: Google has reached out to us again — it turns out that they incorrectly responded to our request for comment on their relationship with the Galaxy Nexus on Verizon and that it will continue to support the device through official firmware updates. Disaster averted.

This entire Nexus deal with VZW just keeps on getting more and more interesting, and not necessarily in a good way. It really isn't clear yet what this means so I'll just sit on this until the dust settles a bit and things start getting a bit more clear.

I'm rooted and running the codename rom which is really nice but I also have ongoing serious problems with the weak radios which is why I finally decided to move on from the GN anyway. As much as I like ICS, it's even more important that the phone actually works as a phone and that data (both wireless and internet) work and that isn't happening for me.

As for leaving Verizon, I live in an area that has only TMO and Sprint as alternatives and TMO only has 1x in this area and Sprint barely has coverage and AT&T, well AT&T doesn't offer service here at all so I'm really stuck with Verizon.
