Well, we have all seen that 4.0.4 is coming now. Its gonna probably take some people a few days. If some of you talk on your phones a lot (I know I dont), let us know how that MIC issue is working out. A lot of reported before, including myself, about the MIC dropping in the middle of a call. And its random, would happen at any different time.

Lets just hope that this update also addresses that issue. But from the other findings that Im hearing from people, this update is fixing a lot of issues like the Volume Bug, Landscape Keyboard Lag and the Signal Strength Indicator.

Re: 4.0.4 update.............Mic issue fixed?

Do you have Volume+? I thought that was found to be the cause of the mic dropping.

Never experienced this. No volume + installed

Re: 4.0.4 update.............Mic issue fixed?

I've had Volume+ since I got the phone in Dec. Never had a mic issue. And do we know for sure that 4.0.4 is doing to be an official release?
EDIT: Nevermind, I guess it seems pretty official going by what others are saying.

As long as they fix autocorrect to work in the web browser, I'll be happy. :) Is there any word on when this update might be rolling out?

I am praying to god sometime in the next 24hrs. Of course there is virtually no chance of that happening, but I can wish :)

For what its worth I had a long talk (30-40 mins) on the phone and didn't experience any mic issue.

Running the 4.0.4.

That's a good sign. I do have Volume+ installed but there are people that said it still happens to them and they don't have that program installed. They need to push this now! I don't feel like unlocking the boot loader lol

Re: 4.0.4 update.............Mic issue fixed?

I have never used Volume+, but I have had this issue on my original and replacement Galaxy Nexus. My release day phone would typically cut out in the 5-10 minute range and CLNR that Verizon sent typically cuts out sometime after 20 minutes.

While I hope the 4.0.4 update actually solves this issue, I am not optimistic. Every discussion that I have had with Verizon tech support results in them denying that this is a known issue. The last tech support agent I spoke with contacted Samsung while I was on the phone with him and reported that the manufacturer also denied that this was a known issue. It seems unlikely that we would get a update that fixes a problem that both the carrier and manufacturer claim doesn't exist.

but if its a software problem that would be google's end, not samsung or verizon (unless it had to do with their towers, and even then),

VZW claims there are no known issues with this phone, which is BS. If there are no known issues, why do we need an update?

Because update are always coming especially more since we have a beta phone.

I've had this issue on all three Galaxy Nexus phones I've had all brand new.Funny twice I have called they told me this was a known problem. They also told me that a update was coming in mid February.

Update: I just called and they did deny that they have heard of the problem or the random reboots. So i told her to report this issue. :( I hope google knows more than Verizon about the issue.

I have had the mic drop issue since Dec 15 when I got the phone. I have had it without Volume+ installed. I have had it after wiping the phone returning to factory settings.
My experience is that it is random and has nothing to do with length of call. Today I dropped three times within five minutes. He was on the road in a car in not great coverage. The call was not dropped since I could hear him asking me if I was still on the other end.
Hope 4.0.3-or4 fixes things.

Verizon offered me a different phone today when I called about the mic issue. Said I could switch to the Razor or Rezound, I declined. I said maybe at some point but I want to wait for the update and see if that fixes anything. :/

I was offered the same thing. I declined and said the same thing you did.

It sounds like they are getting a lot of complaints about the GNex because my guy was quick to offer me a Razr. I just want my GNex fixed if it can be fixed and if not, then I guess I will have to live with a defective phone and $200 worth of accessories.

The woman that offered me the Razor said it like I would poop my pants at the thought of getting one. I told her the Razors screen wasn't as nice and the Rezound was a smaller phone. I just want this issue fixed. A phone must be a phone first and a computer second.

The push the razr because its a droid. They are just as buggy as nexus. And youll will just complain about any thing. My thought for every one complaining about android is and its bugginies should just buy a iphone and its silky smooth os..

Whatever. The iPhone is not a 4G device and the complaints are about dropped calls or calls where the other caller can't hear you or you can't hear them. That is not just bugginess, that is a phone that isn't a reliable phone.
