Very nice. I think it would be even better if you're able to switch to tablet mode. I think that would be much more of a desktop friendly interface.

At that point you could just use remote desktop or VNC to an actual desktop =p

Now someone just needs to make a ROM that is more oriented towards this experience.

Can you or can't you make your homescreen horizontal? I remember hearing that you can't but right his is horizontal and he said it's stock.

You can, when you plug in the MHL adapter to a TV it will automatically set it up as such.

Obviously the ability for a horizontal desktop exists, but the only known trigger of this configuration is the MHL adapter.

If you hook it up to a tv you won't need any extra software. But in order to hook it up to the tv you need that adapter. If you're talking about on the phone itself, you can install a different launcher but that's the only way that'll happen.

Nifty, although this has been a perfectly viable option since Android 3.1 came out a few months ago.

why couldn't you use any cell phone or tablet with a micro usb?

Even with Gingerbread? or Honeycomb...or Froyo? Is there something about ICS that makes this more workable?

You can do it with any phone that has bluetooth, micro hdmi port or mhl capable port.

I want a ROM that switches from the phone UI and dpi to the tablet UI and dpi when you connect the MHL adapter. The galaxy nexus has almost the same resolution as the current 10.1 inch tablets and that resolution would work just fine on a monitor with a keyboard and mouse. The only thing that's holding the nexus back is the size of the UI elements, which are way took big on a desktop monitor.
