Be careful taking panoramic photos if you plan to have a single, large object in a majority of the shot. Especially an object vertically-oriented in the scene. For example, the panorama algorithm really seemed to struggle with the following shot:

It took six attempts to get one which didn't have parts of the scene skewed. But other than that, the advice above is solid.

I took some awesome panorama shots on my trip to Sedona AZ and the Grand Canyon .... Like Run said ... lots of lighting and slow steady panning make for some pretty impressive shots ....

Does everything have to be completely still for pano?

Slow and steady when you pan. It doesn't work well for moving objects. You'll end up with ghosts if there is movement (which could be cool for Halloween).
