My girlfriend is on her second.

First one had major battery issues. Loss of network issue. Also had the screeching once.

So far the 2nd sgn has good battery but did lose the network once. Now the main issue is the in call volume control won't work.

Have you done a factory reset?
Does the volume rocker work elsewhere, not in call?

Works everywhere else. Didn't consider a factory reset since this phone is only hours old.
