Default Privacy, ad blocking, and Facebook

Is there a way to block ads in ICS without rooting? I recall Admob was immune to the unrooted options on my old Droid.

Is there a way to remove/block location tracking by apps? Unless I'm intentionally checking in somewhere - as if - FB doesn't need to know where I am. I'm almost positive this sort of blocking will require root but I need the motivation anyway.

The closest thing to stopping ads without rooting Is go into settings in market and unchecked Google ad mobs ads. I don't even think this stops ads just its tracking of your searches and app history. You should root and get AdfreeAndroid by Big Tin Can. It stops all ads from apps, even free apps. Works like a charm.

Fair enough; pretty much what I expected.

Once rooted, how can I deny apps access to the GPS individually?
