i have my phone rooted with stocked rom
it seems adfree doesn't filter out airpush ads...

Re: i hate airpush ads!!!
Never seen them. Just ditch the app that you have that is associated with them.

Re: i hate airpush ads!!!
Is it a text message? The Icon next to it is the same as the messaging app. If it is a text message then this would explain why airpush detector is not find an app that is causing it. You may have given your cell number to a company or signed up for something online that is causing you to get these texts. Its like Spam email. In the text there should be something that says Reply STOP to stop receiving these messages or something like that.

Re: i hate airpush ads!!!
I don't have a text messaging plan so I hate it when I'm charged for spam texts and I have to pay again to reply STOP to them... so annoying. (I use Google Voice exclusively yet somehow they get my carrier number when I barely remember what it is)

WTH? I'm suddenly getting ad notifications in the bar.
Twice now over the past day I've had a little + sign up in the notification bar. When I go to look at it it has been for things like "claim your $500 Walmart card". Anyone else getting these? Where the heck did they suddenly come from?

Yea, the challenge is figuring out which app is the culprit. I don't think I installed anything new, but did update a bunch yesterday as I'd been out of the country for 2 weeks and on a limited data plan.
