Re: Rumor 4.0.5 in april
The difference is there is a legitimate SOURCE this time, unlike 15,000 people saying "my verizon rep told me..." Whether or not it's April is still to be decided, but if the build is out there, and Verizon is testing it, that's far enough for me to assume it's actually likely. There's been a new version of android every month since the Nexus came out, maybe this will be the one to hit OTAs, maybe not.
Of course I wont believe it until I see it, but I think there's a better possibility we may actually see this one as an OTA. - 03-21-2012, 10:16 AM #11

Re: Rumor 4.0.5 in april
How'd you get them to offer you a Maxx? Are you under the 15 days? I hypothetically asked them about it if the update does not fix the data switchoff issues and was shot down now that I'm past the 15 days.
I really love my phone and don't want to start over but I don't know how much longer I can deal with the data dropping and staring at gray bars and no service in a heavy 4g area. I also can not seem to take a good picture indoors for the life of me. - 03-21-2012, 12:57 PM #14

Call and explain your issues. They will try to send you another refurb, and explain that you have spoken to Samsung and it is hardware related. I just got off the phone with CS an hour ago, and as soon as their ordering software comes back online my order for a Maxx will be placed. Call every other day or so to report issues.

What's twitter? Jostling.
IMO if you don't COMPLETELY support yourself you are still a kid. I'm 30 and some of my friends are definitely kids. Pretty sad...I blame the parents.
Back on topic I'm with the guy who doesn't really care because I don't have any issues on stock 4.0.2. I plan to root in a bit just to see what it's all about (wugfresh easy method). I would appreciate a faster handoff in fringe areas, but I'm not in the boonies all that often to notice. - 03-21-2012, 10:27 PM #20
Re: Rumor 4.0.5 in april
I went to Syracuse, NY last weekend and experienced 4g for the first time on my Gnex. I definitely see what people mean about it dropping heavily indoors. I was in the Carousel Mall and any time I had a view of the sky I had nearly full bars of 4g, but anytime I went into a store 4g dropped and i switched to 3g.
I never once had an issue with data dropping off completely though, just swapping between 3g and 4g, and it did it quick too (im on 4.0.4 with those radios). I now understand people gripes about the 4g on this phone though. - 03-21-2012, 11:50 PM #21

Re: Rumor 4.0.5 in april
I have constant problems with the camera not responding. Theres a thread on this as well. Ill go into the camera app, take a few pictures and then the app will crash. Ill get a wait/close/report menu. If i wait, i get a black screen. If i close it or exit it on the multitask menu it just wont open anymore. I am then forced to reboot the phone. If i am taking alot of pictures for some reason i'm lucky if i get 20 pictures out of it before it happens again. But sometimes it wont happen at all. Really random so its been tough for me to troubleshoot. I would love for the update to remedy this as well as the data handoffs. If not ill be looking for another phone this summer.

Stock and locked phone... I get that camera issue all the time. A fix would be wonderful...
