Default OTA update over wifi possible?

I am currently on a business trip and will be out of the US for the entire month of April. I currently have my Galaxy Nexus set to Airplane mode with Wifi on so I do not have any Roaming Data Charges (I have a company issued Windows mobile 6.0 phone for calls and text). If the next OTA is pushed in April will I still be able to get the update via wifi or do I need to be on a mobile data connection?

Downloading the update can certainly be done over WiFi, however I'm not sure if the initial version check is done over the carrier's network... Send a tweet to @VZWSupport asking them IF an update were to come out, would you be notified... They usually respond quickly... If you put "when" in the question, they'll just say "We have no details about an update at this time... Blah blah blah..." and miss your point.
