It won't let us from the market. Someone will post the updated apk shortly enough for a simple side load. If I see it anywhere else I'll re-post it here guys. Meantime you can use the last version without issue, no need to be rooted or anything:

I had it installed for months from the original Market hiccup where you could install it if you went in the right order. But now that I got the latest Market Update, it doesn't show up as installed anymore so I can't update it

N/M I got it... Once installed (whether from original hack or from side loading), I had to start with the Browser (not logged into Google), and Search for Google Wallet. Once it showed up in the list, I clicked it and it asked me to log in. Once I logged in, I hit back to go back to the list of apps, I clicked the Google Wallet link again (not the install button), this time asked again where to open, and I open it in the Market, and now I had the option to update it.

I just update by going to the browser,
    1) play.google.com
    2) wallet
if it pops up to use the browser or play store app, select play store app
    3) update.

Just make sure you type your email and password in. It wouldn't work for me at least if i d let Google sign me in.

I've been using Wallet a lot more. I use it at Chevron, 7-11, CVS, and sometimes Best Buy.

I also got the Pay With Square app, which is pretty cool itself.

    The future is here!

Wallet was forcing an update and the play app store, when you tried to update it, was saying the program was not compatible with your model phone. the link was the work around update.

but if your asking what the force update actually fixed, I dunno, you can't actually find it in play app store to see 'what's new'

Can't you do that via the market place website? Yes, you can. This is what is posted at the website.

    What's New
    What's in this version:
Prepaid Card top up forms more flexible
    Citi Mastercard management improvements
    UI improvements
    Privacy enhancements
    Bug fixes
    Updated Terms of Service

I see now. It's always interesting when it says it's not installed

I installed the apk from this thread on my rooted stock nexus. Went toMcDonalds today and tried to use it but failed.

I have my pin set up so this is how it went. When it was time for me to pay, I touched the pay pass pad with my phone. My phone dinged, got the sent message, clicked on done, but the register showed that it didn't go through. the weird thing is that with the pin set up on my phone, I thought I was supposed to type it in after the first scan, then scan it again. But it didn't.

All I did was unlock my phone, scanned it on the pad and it said sent then done without me even having to put in the code.

I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong, or the app no longer works.

    Any ideas?

I'd suggest opening up the app before tapping instead of letting the app auto open. A lot of us Verizon Nexus holders have success that way.

This.. Also I had a similar issue after updating it using that apk. Fixed after I cleared wallet's data and cache and uninstalled from settings>Apps.. Then just reinstalled it fresh.

Anyone know if 1.1-R57v5 is the lastest Google Wallet APK?
Had 1.1-R41v8 and was getting "This version is out of date" and had option to update now or later. Tried updating but would send me to the Play Store. Nothing happening there with a Verizon GNex. Except for getting that message Google Wallet worked fine. Just sideloaded the above version after clearing cache, clearing data and uninstalling older wallet. Everything looks like it did before and not seeing that notice about update when I open the app. Loaded another 20 bucks and will give it a try tomorrow. This is my work supplied phone so needless to say I have had to keep it totally stock, BUMMER! Hey, wallet should have been stock LOL!
Update: Works just fine. I always open wallet and have it set showing prepaid card before
holding it to the reader. I just hold it about 1/2 inch from the reader and it works.
Have never tapped the reader to open the app.
