    Default Galaxy Nexus Battery Cover

So was anyone hoping that the Sprint Galaxy Nexus would have the battery cover that simply said "Google" in hopes of swapping yours out?

There was such an uproar that Verizon had branding on this phone, so much that people were stating it wasn't a real Google device. Now the Nexus is being released for Sprint, and Sprint has branding on it as well but I'm not seeing such a huge uproar over on the Sprint forums.

I love that it is now going to be released on multiple platforms, we can now hold some water as to the timeliness of the updates, it will be interesting to see if Sprint will get updates rolled out prior to Verizon and those that say Verizon is the one gimping this phone may or may not have some validity.

We've known that Sprint branding was on the back of their Galaxy Nexus since the day it was shown off at CES in Jan. Plenty of pics and video of it at Engadget and Cnet.

As for updates, we'll have to wait and see if Google will announce that they relinquish all software responsibility of the device like they did for the Verizon version, giving full control to Verizon. If Sprint is smart, they'll leave that ball in Google's court.

Does anyone know construction details of Sprint Galaxy Nexus? Probably like Verizon, right?

Yea...that wasn't my point. My point was everyone lambasting Verizon and wanting to go out and buy an international battery cover (before you say it, I know you can't because they have different slots), but this was conversation for months prior to release all because Verizon had branding on a pure Google phone.

Sure, I missed the January pictures but I didn't see a thread about it and was wondering others thoughts or if it made the Verizon adopters feel better about a piece of plastic that they were complaining about

As for software updates, people are stating that the sprint device is launching with 4.0.4, however it's not officially released until tomorrow so we'll see if Verizon pushes something tomorrow

Angry Re: Galaxy Nexus Battery Cover

Got the Sprint Nexus in the mail on Friday. Went to Verizon's store and got extended battery. The VERIZON back cover for extended battery DOES NOT FIT the Sprint one. There is one notch that is deliberately shifted on the cover. I broke it off but the cover is not fitting tightly because of it. I forced the original Sprint cover over the extended battery, it's kind of in place with a very minor bulge. I use a silicone cover on the phone anyway, so it's perfectly cozy in place. But for anyone looking to buy a replacement cover - MAKE SURE it's designed for your carrier's version of Nexus.

Does Sprint not offer the extended battery?

I simply don't understand why carriers/manufacturers do this. What gives, ya know?
