    Wink Solved my radio problem

I used to have full gray bars about 60% of the time and it was driving me nuts as I like to stream music while driving. There were parts of my commute where I new I could listen to music because I had blue bars, and multiple mile stretches where I knew my bars would be gray. Now, I'm blue all the way!
I starting reading the thread about Nova launcher about a week ago and decided to give it a try. With the extra real estate I decided to add a Wi-Fi widget to my home screen so I could turn it off when not at home or the office to conserve some of my precious battery. Well much to my surprise, as I drove around with Wi-Fi off, I was able to get a good strong 3G signal everywhere, even those spots that I ALWAYS went gray. I drove to work this morning and for the first time, never lost blue bars. I guess the Wi-Fi radio was competing or drawing priority from the 3G radio? I'm not sure, but I'm very happy today. I've never seen this posted before, so I wanted to throw it out there.

Get an app called profile scheduler. It let's you set up specific phone profiles for whatever you are doing. I have separate profiles for home, car, work, night, silent, and for just normal use. It will automatically turn off/on things like Wi-Fi Bluetooth, sync, set volumes, and it even turns on spotify for me when I get in the car! One of the best apps I've ever used.

    mikebear,

This is good news. Especially since you'll now spend more time watching the road and less time watching those 4 bars!

    ^^nice! LOL.

There's also a stock widget called "power control" you can use on any home screen to toggle wi-fi, BT, GPS, sync, screen brightness/auto if you're not into Nova Launcher. Just go to apps and keep scrolling to widgets.

I grabbed the profile scheduler, it'll do the job nicely, thanx

I threw this out there because so many people complain about their signal, I just wanted to offer some help. It improved mine tremendously.
