(1) You're positive you're on stock 4.0.2--stock radios, bootloader, etc. No custom roms, just unlocked and rooted stock 4.0.2?

(2) You're also positive you had a custom recovery--CWM flashed. Correct?

(3) Did you rename it "update.zip"? If so, try not renaming it. Also try re-downloading the file. Make sure you place it where you can remember it!

Re: [ICS][4.0.4] Official IMM76K Update Thread for the VZW GNex

Im running 4.02 with 4.02 radios (which I flashed). I tried installing the zip from the mirror and I'm getting:

Verifying current system....
assert failed: apply_patch_check{"/system/build.", "long number", "long number')
E: Error in /sdcard/12f767e7a5d0.signed-mysid-IMM-76K-from-ICL53F.12f767e7.zip
(Status 7)
Installation aborted.

Suggestions. Are my radios borked?

Where did you download it in ROM Manager? I would suggest turning back to stock using the methods described in the linked guides. I wouldn't trust a "stock" rom downloaded from RM unless it truly is one. Was it deodexed?

You literally need to be on STOCK 4.0.2. It means you revert all the way back, unlock, root, and don't touch it after setting up CWM.

Edit: I Googled that error and found an XDA thread (which you posted in lol). Return your phone back to stock with something like Wug's or the GNex Toolkit, then do this. OTA's are very finicky in this regard--it must be completely stock, and from what I gather, there was something in the ROM you dl'd that made it "not" stock.

Wug's is the simplest and fastest, so if you have a Windows PC and are crunched for time, I suggest using that to turn it back to stock, then rooting/unlocking and going from there.

Status 7 error could very well be the recovery... Have him update to the official touch 5.8.0.2....

Good point. I suggest flashing the touch recovery--either in RM (with donation) or via fastboot.

I get lazy with fastboot and prefer supporting our amazing devs (like Mr. Dutta), so I suggest donating $2 and flashing it via RM :).

Re: [ICS][4.0.4] Official IMM76K Update Thread for the VZW GNex

Just completed the update from IMM30B with FA02 radios to IMM76K with FC04/FC05 radios. Here's what I did:
1. Reverted back to ICL53F radios via CWM and a recent nandroid backup and rebooted (wiping cache and Dalvik cache prior)
2. Flashed EK02 radios (zip file via CWM) and rebooted
3. Checked that all went fine - it did :)
4. Flashed the new OTA IMM76K-from-ICL53F zip file (with the recovery folder inside the ZIP archive removed to keep CWM) and rebooted (wiping cache and Dalvik cache prior)
5. After successul reboot I'm running IMM76K with the new FC04/FC05 radios :D

However, I lost root and OTA RootKeeper was not able to restore it (I made SU backup prior to the whole procedure). So I booted into CWM recovery again and flashed the modified SU for 4.0.4 that is floating around and rebooted. This restored root for me. :D

So far I have no problems. It's actually quite amazing that I was able to do that without running into major issues. I just rooted my Gnex last week (long-time webOS user and first time root ever!) as I lost hope that Verizon would push out an update any time soon.

Thanks! What IMM30B were you on--just the leaked OTA?

On that note--I'm off to rest. I'll have screens and such tomorrow :).

Re: [ICS][4.0.4] Official IMM76K Update Thread for the VZW GNex

Yes it was the IMM30B OTA that leaked a while back (I think in February).

Thanks, I appreciate it. Good to know you can do that.

Also, Status 7 Error, like 2 def said, is recovery related. Please make sure you have an up to date recovery. Remember, the Verizon phone = toro. Use the link in the OP to find the appropriate recovery--touch or regular. The latest version of the regular CWM recovery is "5.5.0.4" while the latest version of the touch recovery is "5.8.0.2."

(Click the links to download the flashable images ;)).

Just updated and it was super easy. Went through RM, made a backup and installed the file. Thanks to the OP.
Hopefully this update helps me keep my signal more

I also appear to have kept my root without having RootKeeper.

Excellent! Please post screenshots of your About Phone in Settings!

Re: [ICS][4.0.4] Official IMM76K Update Thread for the VZW GNex

Looks like google pulled the update from their servers..

Re: [ICS][4.0.4] Official IMM76K Update Thread for the VZW GNex

Here it is. Thanks again for the walkthrough.

Thanks! Mind if I use it in the OP? Also, do you mind perhaps sending me a bigger one? I'll PM you my email. Much appreciated!
