Re: Feeling played on the 4.04 update.
I flashed 4.0.4 couple of days ago but am having a few issues. I do notice a major difference in some things, like the camera app, and web browser. However, my phone is muuuucchhhh slower when unlocking the phone. I unlock and it lags like crazy, sometimes taking a 2-3 seconds for the soft buttons to appear. battery life seems to have dropped too, but that could be because of an app i installed. anyone else having the lag issue?

I just don't see how 18 different threads complaining about the same thing (why we don't have a new update yet) accomplishes anything. Do you really think that creating new threads every other day is going to change anything Google/Samsung/Verizon does? One thread about it I can understand, but do we really need a new one every couple days/weeks/whatever? It gets old.
Just as it is your right to create all these stupid unnecessary threads, it is my right to complain about such threads.

I disagree. I have thoroughly tested my device in several different markets and experienced none of the issues that people commonly complain about...therefore, my phone does not have these issues...therefore, not all Gnexs have these issues.
So by your logic, just because the very vocal minority have issues, all of us have those issues even though we have never experienced them?
Am I reading you right?

Agreed. I'm going to leave until the OTA actually comes out and then come back to see how many threads there are talking about how the update sucks and it didn't fix anything...or better yet, how the update is causing new problems...lol

Re: Feeling played on the 4.04 update.
This post is very ill informed. Going from 4.0.2 to 4.0.4 you get updates you your Radios among other things. That in and of itself is ground breaking for the GNEX. So rather than say there is nothing groundbreaking about it, why dont you research the changes first?

This update is really starting to upset me. I do want to root my phone. I want a stock experience that works. I guess I have to wait patiently to have Verizon officially push the update to my phone. Only time will tell what I end up doing. If this drags out pass the time the droid razr hd is out I plan to force Verizon's hand and hoping they will let me get that phone. I know its a stretch but I figure why not...

What a conundrum. I just bought my GNex on friday. I want to update so bad to 4.0.4 to see if my radios improve. I don't want to root because I won't be able to return it if I do.
The update method shows how to update the phone using a windows machine. I'm using a Mac and I don't know enough about terminal to try and translate the steps.
The folks at Verizon said they don't know when they send out the update. Isn't that absurd!
My options are: (a)keep the phone and hope the update fixes it, (B) return the phone all together, or (c) figure out how to update manually.
Any Ideas?

Re: Feeling played on the 4.04 update.
Just so you know, it's VERY simple to unroot and relock your device if you want to return it using a toolkit like Wug's. I never had issues when I was stock, but now I get LTE in a concrete skyscraper where nobody gets LTE. So, the new radios are certainly an improvement, at least for me and my nexus. Take a look
