Re: [LINK] This is why your Nexus signal "sucks"
I think you could have wrote this as well. Damn good link for "signal" issues only. Did that dropped mic get officially solved?

I wish everyone complaining about signal issues would read this. Nice post!

Re: [LINK] This is why your Nexus signal "sucks"
As long as you don't drop the mic....finally, whew....forget release info, this is triage....sad actually.

Re: [LINK] This is why your Nexus signal "sucks"
Indeed I do, as I have stated. But really this late? And I have always had a good signal on my gnex, so this write up is pointless. Anyone have the mic issue solved? This is so late, I feel like it is TRIAGE support. Sad man, so sad to have a trivial signal thread this late in the game, lame.

Re: [LINK] This is why your Nexus signal "sucks"
Considering there are far more people who complain about signal issues on their Nexus as well as a fair number of them who put their Nexus side by side with other types of phones, I'll have to disagree with you on this being pointless.
I'm not sure, I couldn't find anything on that particular issue in this particular article. In fact, I don't recall seeing one word, or mention of mic issues in this article. If it did, I'd probably have a more concrete opinion on mic issues.Anyone have the mic issue solved? This is so late, I feel like it is TRIAGE support. Well I still miss calls where my Thunderbolt would work fine. And 4g drops out fast where I know I still have coverage. But the article is informative and well written

Re: [LINK] This is why your Nexus signal "sucks"
Just to clarify (for my own curiosity, and others who might wonder the same thing)
Although the article was written about Verizon Gnex phones, I'm assuming the same holds true for the GSM Gnex as well? I held my GSM Gnex beside my buddy's GS II. My signal bars were stable at 3 sometimes up to 4, his was a strong 5, occasionally flickering down to 4. Same carrier (Rogers). They were less then 6" apart....
Yet network speeds (a quick n dirty "type in the same URL and hit GO exactly at the same time") seemed very much the same. - 05-19-2012, 11:41 PM #15

Yep I took my Nexus and put it next to my brother's VZW phone. Both on 3G and his phone had no issues playing youtube videos and my Nexus wouldn't load up a single website. Nothing it acted like it had the data connection turned off. His youtube video never even needed to buffer. It was insane.
The phones were inches apart, his had full bars and mine had nothing.
The strange thing is voice calling is amazing on mine. I've never had a single dropped call. Signal for that works perfect. But I don't even try to use data away from wifi anymore. Cause it simply isn't worth the hassle of trying to get and keep a connection. - 05-20-2012, 10:22 AM #20Sent from my Verizon Galaxy Note 2, Verizon Galaxy S3, or N7, or MacBook Air

Re: [LINK] This is why your Nexus signal "sucks"
My bionic was worse than my nexus as well, expet my nexus signal was fine and the mic failed (multiple devices/stock/rooted/radios/OS/ROMed to no avail, but my bionic had an awesome mic, and only failed when switching to LTE or 3G. I am sure there are enough of us that don't have a nexus because of said issues. The explanation of what should be is nice.

Re: [LINK] This is why your Nexus signal "sucks"
It can display signal differently than other 4G LTE phones all it wants, as you can see from other reports the phone still has bad reception. People losing data and dropping calls that is bad signal, so study up on something that doesn't matter. The phones radios still suck.

Re: [LINK] This is why your Nexus signal "sucks"
Does anyone understand why my voice reception will work so much better than the data?
That's what I don't understand. Any other phone I've owned on VZW the data and voice either had signal and they work or they didn't. There was no being able to make a phone call, but not being able to load a website. At least I never noticed having voice without having data. - 05-20-2012, 03:50 PM #25
Re: [LINK] This is why your Nexus signal "sucks"
I don't doubt some people have lousy signal on their phones. From my personal experience it has been fine. My previous phone was an Incredible. At my daughter's house I had to go outside with my Incredible to maintain a conversation. With my Nexus I can talk as long as I want from inside. She is in a valley with no 4G service. I think the issues is with some phones and/or some towers. I have traveled with my phone and every place I have had fine voice service and excellent data anywhere with 4G. I got my first Gnex on release day and another about 4 weeks later. Both were made in Korea and have similar signal.
