I think that there will be a Verizon announcement the morning of release. Not before, but I think they will make some kind of official statement the day they release it.

My neighbor says that looking back on it, the process was not designed in an optimal manner.

My neighbor confirmed that the contractors who are drilling through the bunker doors will gain access and be able to turn the keys to release the 4.04 update OTA (and this is a direct quote) "in the near future, mean shortly, and possibly within days or weeks."
Doesn't Obama have to give the go ahead with this kind of operation concerning national security? I think he and Michele were busy today?

Due to patents on 4g networks, over the air updates, cell phones in general and the fact that they were given total control of the company so they would be allowed the privilege of selling their product the update will be pushed as soon as Verizon's CEO gets the OK from Apple.

unfortunately, the terms of some of the patent licensing deals require that approval come directly from steve jobs. He is a notorious control freak.

I just checked the Software Update page for Verizon:

They still show build ICL53F as the most current.

At this rate this might be the last update we get for ICS. The next update will be Jellybean and I'm guessing most of us will unlock and root so we can get it several months before Verizon releases it.

It feels like Verizon has had 4.0.4 for several months but only started testing it the last few weeks.

It didn't occur to me until I read this. I have a bad feeling that this is exactly what will happen with Jelly Bean.

Well if that's the case then if Windows Phone enforces upgrades like they did today with everyone upgrading to maintain access to the app store. If Android can't enforce timely updates then perhaps in the future Windows Phone is the way to go.
