Re: 3 Clicks, and I'm on 4.0.4
Thank You "datruth585" After doing this about 100 times last night and no success. I tied his method once "clear data" then "manually reboot" When my GNEX came back on there was the update ready to install . Only took about 10 minutes on wifi. We are good to go on 4.0.4!! build IMM76K!! Awsome!!

Re: 3 Clicks, and I'm on 4.0.4
I tried this method countless times over the last 24 hours. FINALLY the update appeared!
It crashed during the installation.
I tried it (the whole process) a second time. Crash.
Third time was not the charm. Crash.
It downloads IMM76K, reboots, and starts the install. Then a pretty little dead robot appears with a red triangle oozing from its guts. A battery pull is the only way to reset it, and it comes back up on 4.02.
Now what??? Any suggestions?I've been called many things in my life. "Normal" was never one of them.

Worked for me on the third try! Though on the third try I forced stopped and then cleared and on the other two I did the opposite. Regardless, I have been waiting patiently for over 6 months and beating the check for update button bloody for two days and finally. Hark I hear the angels singing!

Re: 3 Clicks, and I'm on 4.0.4
This method so effin' works. I had been hitting the Check for Update button since first heard of the update being pushed and nothing. I went through the 3-click process and in my 2nd attempt I reached Nirvana, update was right there in front of me and it is installing as I type this on my PC.
Waiting to see if indeed I experience improvements during the 3G-4G handoffs as in my daily commute I went through at least two areas where I would experience troubles.

Count me in as a "third time is a charm" club member. Just swapped out my second Nexus, got home and tried this method and it worked. I'm just on wi-fi, no SIM card installed.

Note that doing this trick will break push notifications in many apps like Twitter, IMDB, Foursquare, Android Lost, etc. If an app's notifications stop working for you after doing this, the only way to get them going again is to clear the app's data and set it up from scratch.

Re: 3 Clicks, and I'm on 4.0.4
On my 3rd try, it instantly notified me there was an update, it was downloading it and will reboot to install. It installed fine and seems to be a wee bit more responsive however I did notice that I don't get gmail notifications anymore, not in my notification bar or a notification sound but the email is in my inbox on the phone.

After doing this trick and pulling in the update I find that my phone now doesn't lock onto mobile data after a reboot. The date shows as December 1999 and clock as 6am. Only able to get date and time updated if I connect to wifi. Bars in the status are Grey with small x in it.
Phone status confirms this as well, no service. Anyone else have similar problem?
Update: I pulled out my sim card and put it back in and now able to get mobile data connection again.

Worked for me on second try after I turned off wifi as well. Not sure if that mattered but last night I tried 4 times on wifi then this am first try without doing the op s suggestion nothing. One minute later after following the steps with wifi off it worked.

Re: 3 Clicks, and I'm on 4.0.4
After 20 tries last night and 10 tries this morning i had given up. Then i decided to try a few more times after breakfast and lo and behold...it finally worked. I'm on wifi. I'm in Fredericksburg,Va.
Moral of the story? Don't give up! It did eventually work!
