I think you have good chances of getting s new phone if you are poliete and honest with them. Yelling will not get you anywhere. Verizon knows their a problem and if you are persistent you will probally be able to choose a new phone. Best of luck.

I had the GN for one week when it came out took it back for the well known radio issues and I got the Rezound, this is the best phone I've ever owned I've not had to make one call to Verizon, zero issues and works as it should work.

I have read a few posts on this forum that some are now not even being allowed to switch to the Maxx, I wont say getting to go to the 3 is impossible just improbable.
I don't care what kind of phone you use, that's not how I judge someone's worth or intelligence. Sent using tapatalk 2. - 06-22-2012, 02:09 PM #8

Re: Yelling at Verizon
You will not get an S3... They always swap you with equal or lesser, not a phone thats a year newer usually.
I have heard some really good reviews about the Rezound, good luck! - 06-22-2012, 05:55 PM #15

Re: Yelling at Verizon
I spoke to a really cool level 2 tech the other night for an hour or so and there is no way to get a GS3. I tried to get a maxx but all he had to offer me was a rezound, a regular razr and an LG Spectrum. He checked the system and they were all out of Razr maxxs and the iphone 4s which are the only two phones that i would consider but he told me that even after the SG3 is launched there would be no way to get one. I had him send me another Gnex and he said that the certified pre-owned stock changes from day to day and just to call back and check for a Razr maxx. As much as I don't want a moto phone the 4.04 update looks almost completely vanilla ics with some cool features added.

I'm contemplating returning my GNex, but I am conflicted. On one hand, I love this device. On the other, the mic cutting out mid call is really starting to take it's toll.
That being said... I always deal with VZW over the phone, as I get the best results that way (though it doesn't hurt that I'm a VIP customer). I wouldn't ask for a straight up exchange for a newer device. I would throw out the offer to pay a pro-rated amount.

Re: Yelling at Verizon
Have you ever considered rooting your device and installing something like AOKP and a different kernel? I have seen phenomenal improvements since doing this. Usually I can get a full 24 hours on battery and most of the time more. As far as data drops go, they are far and few in between.

Re: Yelling at Verizon
That's your best bet. I was fortunate enough to have "swap for Maxx" noted in my account if I should ever want to switch. I was tempted to try the same deal with the SIII, but that home button really cramps my style. From my experiences, here's what you need:
(1) Longstanding customer. Better part of a decade, no less. I've had a line with Verizon for about 9 years now and my line is the "first" line in the family plan. Each line is added to mine, so I get the uber-awesome status. 9 years ago it was just my line, now it's 5 lines with unlimited data. That shows loyalty and they love that.
(2) Polite. Don't yell; this is obvious, but some get upset really quickly hiding behind a phone.
(3) Don't out and out ask, but dodge around the issue. "Is there any alternative to me getting another replacement? I just want a 4G device of comparable value and meaning." Stuff like that. If you say, "Yo homey, give me a Maxx" you're dead on arrival.Former moderator & advisor.

Re: Yelling at Verizon
All of these are so true when it comes to Verizon. I always follow those 3 since I am part of a family share plan that has been with Verizon since their beginning I believe. I know at least my line has been part of the family share plan for over 9 years now and I am an account holder as well.
If you go to Verizon and show some respect and don't come out of the gate acting like your god's gift to the human race and demand something usually they will do everything they can to help you. Yes, everyone gets angry and frustrated but it rarely gets you anywhere. Think about how you would react if someone came in screaming and ing to you compared to the nice and calm guy. - 06-23-2012, 02:57 PM #25
Re: Yelling at Verizon
Another thing that can help is try and extend the call time as long as you can. The longer they are the phone with the same customer(without them freaking out) the more they are urged to comply just to move the process along. But avoid repeating your self that frustrates people.
