help! Gmail on GNEX crashed, can't fix

My gmail widget is blank, I can't open gmail from the shortcut or any other way on the device. I tried going into APPS, force stop, clear cache, did not help.

I rebooted the gnex twice, problem not solved.

My data connectivity is ok, other e-mail clients, eg yahoo, verizon mail, are retrieving mail

Any ideas? I didn't really change anything at all on the phone today.

Did you try uninstalling it? What about unsyncing Google services then resyncing?

It resolved w/o uninstalling. I also kept getting an error message about Volume+ not working, so I uninstalled that. Have no idea if there was any relationship,, maybe memory issue, but it's ok now. tx for your response.
