Re: Be on the lookout for IMM76Q OTA
I received a CLN device today with the IMM76Q update installed - dropped radios while setting up google services the first time I booted up the phone, a whole 30 seconds into it. Dropped 3 more times in the next 15 minutes so I called up VZW to send out another one - #9 .... - 07-31-2012, 09:11 PM #77

Re: Be on the lookout for IMM76Q OTA
Well, I received my replacement device yesterday and so far so good..except for just a couple things. I will mention those in a bit. This one, however, was made in Korea instead of China like my original. It has the build as the title of this thread, "IMM76Q", instead of IMM76K and also has the version .09 radio instead of my original which had version .10. I looked at the RTN and oddly enough it has no reconditioned information except "no". I find this somewhat odd being a CLN device. The date below the battery is 7/17/12 I believe give or take a day. The only issue I have noticed so far with this particular device is that the screen/colors appear to be kind of dull. The blacks just aren't the same and quite as dark as my old device.. Also, I noticed on some screens while performing a screen test app that there is some burn in where the notification bar is and seems when I'm scrolling down a white page that if you look closely you can see some type of slim line going across the screen about exactly mid way..usually have to look fairly close though to notice it. Other than that the connection has been rock solid thus far under both 3G and 4G. Haven't made too many phone calls yet but haven't noticed inbound/outbound audio cut outs as of yet. If only this screen was as good as my last one..but I guess it could be worse..

Re: Be on the lookout for IMM76Q OTA
This. .10 is much "rarer" than .9, and I've even seen a few "newer" replacements going back to .9. Some theorized (and this was a while ago so it may be completely out of date) that .10 was a bit experimental, released as a small batch, and has simply worked its way around like currency.
That being said, I've had 4 different devices and all were Korean-made, .9.Former moderator & advisor.

Thanks for this, apparently we need it for the JB leak.

Re: Be on the lookout for IMM76Q OTA
IMM76Q was an incremental update (still ICS) that was in testing and was either supposed to go out OTA, or only meant for replacement devices/new devices sold from the end of last month onward.
For reasons unknown, it was never pushed out OTA to anyone that already had a GNEX. If you needed a warranty replacement, you would likely get a refurbed handset with it, but other than that, nada.
The updates main purpose was to gimp universal search, and there are some unverified reports of something having to do with the radio code changing (although on the surface it does not appear to change the radios). This was because of the whole Apple patent thing with the GNEX last month.
It might not have been sent out because JB deals with universal search differently, thus making the update pointless, since we know that Verizon now has a fresh JB build in internal testing.
There's really no point to this specific OTA anymore, but like the post above me states, you can manually load it if you desire. - 08-29-2012, 06:24 PM #94Former moderator & advisor.

Re: Be on the lookout for IMM76Q OTA
This is true, for now anyway.
DL has a fully flashable CWM system image of the new build that is already pre-rooted and ready to go. You can flash it over whatever ROM as long as you wipe first.
The only issue is, the server the file is being hosted on is being hammered and download times are as high as two days for some people. Hopefully it will be mirrored in the next few hours. - 08-29-2012, 06:46 PM #96
